‘Summer House’ cast tease ‘next chapter’ as Bravo finally confirms spin-off show: ‘There's a lot of...’
Bravo is expanding its reality playground with a new series titled 'In The City,' a spinoff of 'Summer House.' Also, familiar faces Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and Lindsay Hubbard are stepping into a slightly different spotlight. The trio, known for their long-running presence on 'Summer House', is part of the cast. They recently opened up about what fans can expect when cameras follow them beyond the Hamptons. The reality stars showed up at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Wednesday, January 28, where they participated in a panel and shared fresh details about the project.
While 'Summer House' has built its brand on singles, flirtation, and the occasional explosive argument in a rented mansion, this new venture is going to capture something else entirely. Amanda put it plainly during the discussion, explaining that the show centers around relationships and what she called 'the next chapter' in their lives. "There's a lot of couples that are engaged or in serious relationships, married, with children," Amanda said in a clip later posted to Bravo’s Instagram. ''Where 'Summer House' is a lot more about singles and hookups and partying. So, you're more so navigating that next chapter and that next phase in life. It's a little more into adulthood. Not too much."
''Just a touch,'' Kyle chimed in, making it clear that while maturity may be creeping in, the fun isn’t being boxed up and stored away. Lindsay also pointed out that the setting itself changes the tone. For 10 seasons, 'Summer House' has revolved around weekends in the Hamptons, with glimpses of city life sprinkled in between. 'In The City', however, flips that formula completely. "It shows our day-to-day lives in the city, whereas 'Summer House' is focused on the Hamptons, and then you have a little bit of our city life,'' Lindsay explained during the panel.
"Whereas this is like, we're like, in it," she continued. "Like, our activities, our home life, our dating lives back in the city." Moreover, Kyle noted that the cast won’t just consist of familiar Bravo personalities rotating in and out. Instead, viewers will meet friends who have been part of their lives long before reality TV entered the picture. "Also, what's fun is that it's with friends that we've had for 10 plus years that never really came on 'Summer House." he shared, describing the group as an 'existing group of friends.' For Lindsay, the shift is especially personal.
After welcoming her daughter, Gemma Britt Kufe, in December 2024, she’s entering a completely new phase of life. Motherhood is front and center now, and viewers will get a closer look at how she balances parenting with friendships and everything else New York demands. It’s a side of her that ‘Summer House’ barely had room to show. As of now, Bravo hasn’t announced an official premiere date. A teaser trailer has been released, promising the series is 'coming soon,' which, in television-speak, could mean weeks or months.
