Yugyeom of GOT7 is reportedly leaving JYP Entertainment this year after his exclusive JYP Contract expires. The K-pop superstar is supposedly joining Jay Park’s Hip-hop based label AOMG.

Why is Yugyeom leaving?

According to a report of SPOTV, the exclusive contract of GOT7 members is ending in January 2021 and JYP Entertainment is in talks with all seven members to discuss various possibilities for the future. The report suggests that Yugyeom has been in talks with a number of agencies but is leaning toward’s a singer-songwriter, rapper Jay Park’s agency AOMG. JYP Entertainment hasn’t made any official statement regarding this. But the agency told a publication. “We are still discussing various possibilities regarding GOT7’s contracts, and we will inform you when we are ready.”

Will they stay together as GOT7?

The report further suggests that the possibility of the members signing up with different agencies yet working together as GOT7 is also being discussed. Earlier, GOT7’s Jinyoung was reported to sign with BH Entertainment, an acting agency to further his acting career. JYP commented on the issue of Jinyoung signing up with BH stating, “We are still discussing with Jinyoung regarding the issue of his contract renewal from various angles.”

What are fans saying?

Though none of the members have come out and talked about their future endeavors just yet, fans believe that GOT7 will remain 7 in one way or the other. A fan said, “I was shocked when I read the title of the article, but I'm relieved to hear that even if they go to different agency's they will still continue as Got7.” Another said, For those who are wondering what is happening rn: "YUGYEOM LEAVE GOT7??  THAT IS WRONG." Yugyeom is moving to AOMG Entertainment where the legend JAY PARK is the CEO, you may be wondering "How about GOT7?"
