'General Hospital' fans were left disappointed when their favorite daily soap opera was preempted on Tuesday, January 20. The drama has already reached a peak, as the last episode saw Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) acquitted in the Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) shooting trial, a verdict that hasn't gone down well with several other characters. Just as the rising tension was about to explode, the show failed to air its latest episode, though the reason behind the delay is quite understandable.

Reportedly, 'General Hospital' was not broadcast due to extended live news coverage, including President Donald Trump highlighting his administration's accomplishments during a White House press briefing on Tuesday, January 21. Addressing the sudden schedule change, ABC executive Nathan Varni took to X to inform viewers, writing, "Heads up, #GH fans. Due to ongoing live news coverage, today's episode will now air tomorrow. Our Canadian viewers will see an encore tomorrow," as per Soap Opera News.

The delayed 'General Hospital' episode will now air on Wednesday, January 21, provided there are no further news interruptions. On the other hand, Canadian viewers, who already saw the episode as scheduled, will receive an encore on January 21. The upcoming episode will resume immediately after the previous cliffhanger, showing Willow and Drew celebrating her freedom before the moment takes a dark turn. In a shocking moment, Willow injects Drew with a syringe, causing him to collapse.

Spoilers further reveal Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) at the hospital, where Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) bluntly tells her that Drew is finally getting his karma, while Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) asks Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) out on a date. As Drew is rushed in for emergency treatment, Lucas and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) spring into action, and tensions explode when Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) come to blows.

While national news coverage delayed the fallout, the shocking moment of Willow stabbing Drew has sparked intense fan reactions, some even spotting a hidden Easter egg amid the suspenseful scene, as per Soap Hub. After Drew collapsed unconscious, Willow stared down at him and coldly declared, "It's all going to work out, Drew…you'll see," a moment that sent shivers through viewers. The Easter egg confirms that Willow was already inside the house, secretly overhearing Drew's words before she later shot him twice in the back.

The upcoming episodes of 'General Hospital' also promise tension and unexpected twists as Laura Collins (Genie Francis) finds herself alarmed while Tracy makes a surprising offer to Jason. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) provides guidance to Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), as per Hello!.  As the week progresses, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) manipulates Ava Jerome (Maura West), Jason voices his concern for Britt, and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) experiences a sense of relief, keeping fans on edge with dramatic twists and turns.
