Why did Kim Seonho disappear despite being cleared of abortion scandal? Reports claim health issues
Fans have been missing dimpled actor Kim Seon-ho ever since he disappeared from our screens after the hit K-drama ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ in 2021. The finale of the rom-com was marred with allegations by his ex-girlfriend that he had manipulated her, gaslit her and forced her to get an abortion. The general public was quick to drop him but it was soon revealed that the rumors were false and the actor’s relationship had ended differently. While Seon-ho was once again backed by the public, he stepped back from the spotlight.
The abortion scandal was cleared up after evidence showed that it was a mutual decision and Kim Seon-ho had in fact taken care of the ex despite her cheating on him and using him for his money. Fans and non-fans celebrated his victory by helping him win an Asia Artist Award. The commercials and movie projects that had dropped him soon took him back. But Seon-ho refused two of the films and disappeared from the industry for almost half a year. However, he returned on his birthday on May 8, apologizing for his mistakes and making his comeback with a play.

Reports claim Kim Seon-ho was rushed to the ER
Aside from filming his first major film ‘Sad Tropics’, the actor had dropped out of his next two films ‘2 O’Clock Date’ and ‘Dog Days’. However, Kim Seon-ho made his comeback in the entertainment business by being cast in the lead role in the Korean play ‘Touching the Void’ in June. According to his apology letter on his birthday, fans think Kim Seon-ho decided to take a break because he was affected by the scandal. This speculation has further been strengthened as a new report came in claiming that the actor had ended up getting shingles and rushed to an ER as he was nervous about his return with the play.

Reporter and insider Lee Jin-ho made a YouTube video claiming that on the opening night of Kim Seon-ho’s return with ‘Touching the Void’, the actor had ended up getting shingles on July 9. The immense stress of his return had allegedly affected his immune system which led to the health issue. However, he returned as the production posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Kim Seon-ho with the rest of the cast of ‘Touching the Void’.
The general public also seemed to be welcoming him as his first performance of the play resumed smoothly while he received a positive reception for his acting. According to Jin-ho, Kim Seon-ho returned to acting due to support from the cast members of his long-time variety show ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ and his theatre colleagues.
