The ending of Hulu's 'All’s Fair' was anything but predictable. After all the chaos in episode 8, the ninth and final episode delivered one of the most shocking moments of the series with the arrest of a trusted member of the legal firm. To make matters worse, Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts) finally fell victim to Carrington Lane's (Sarah Paulson) manipulations, and after another setback to her wedding plans, she ultimately decided to call it off.

In the final episode, Carrington Lane's plan was seen working perfectly after Liberty revealed the bridesmaid dresses, and the women despised them. Offended and realising her wedding was falling apart, Liberty admitted Carrington may have been right all along. After delivering a cutting line about none of her bridesmaids having "a modicum of honor," she finally called off her long-doomed wedding, as per TV Insider.

Liberty's wedding hit an even bigger obstacle when Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash-Betts) uncovered that Dr. Reginald 'Reggie' Ramirez (OT Fagbenle) secretly took out a massive private loan to fund his company, using their future together as leverage. When Liberty confronted him, Reggie claimed this was why he pushed for a prenup, but she was done listening. She not only called off the wedding on the spot but pointedly told him she "loved" him. After Dina Standish (Glenn Close) became a named partner, the firm voted on whether to bring Carrington in, resulting in a tie.

Later, during a tense lunch, Dina revealed she didn't vote for Carrington and no longer supported her, having recognized that her intentions were far darker. Dina called Carrington a "terrifying sociopath" and clarified that her affection for her was out of pity, unlike her genuine care for the other women. Dina delivered a crushing blow to Carrington, telling her, "Never confuse love and pity. I'm terribly sorry that I did," exposing the truth about their relationship. Shocked and enraged, Carrington splashed wine in Dina's face, but she quickly vowed to ban her from the firm.

Carrington then briefly collapsed in desperation before coldly refocusing on her mission, proving Dina's warning about her being a "terrifying sociopath" true. After her tense exchange with Dina, Carrington warned Allura Grant (Kim Kardashian) about troubling texts from Dina suggesting she may be unstable and possibly suicidal, supported by statements from Dina's housekeeper. This led to a boardroom interrogation of Dina by Allura, Liberty, Emerald, and Carrington about her mental health. Dina insisted she's fine, blaming the texts on possible hacking and expressing normal grief for her late husband.

Carrington also falsely claimed Dina splashed wine on her, and despite Dina's protests, her anger made her appear guilty. The situation escalated when Dina's housekeeper, Esperanza, claimed she grabbed her by the neck weeks earlier, revealing a bruise that lent credibility to her story. Dina accused Carrington of coercing Esperanza, possibly through threats.

Dina admitted that she felt "unmoored" since her husband Doug's death, but refused to let anyone judge her sanity. Season 1 ended with a dramatic cliffhanger as police arrived at the firm and arrested Dina for the murder of Lloyd Andrew Walton, the man who assaulted Emerald. However, Carrington denied it and added that Dina recently changed her will to leave 80% of her wealth to Esperanza, complicating the situation.
