Who won 'The Voice' Season 28? Team Niall claims another win after a thrilling finale
NBC's 'The Voice' Season 28 concluded with Niall Horan securing his third coaching victory. The two-night finale entertained viewers with stellar guest performances and coaches' offscreen camaraderie. In addition, a nervous excitement was also in the air, leading up to the winner announcement. In the end, an artist from Team Niall took the crown, and we are also cheering for him.
The winner was none other than Aiden Ross from Team Niall, marking Horan's third coaching victory on the show. The final rankings were Jazz McKenzie in 6th (Team Bublé), Max Chambers in 5th (Team Bublé), Aubrey Nicole in 4th (Team Reba), DEK of Hearts in 3rd (Team Niall), Ralph Edwards in 2nd (Team Snoop), and Ross taking 1st place (Team Niall), as per Deadline.
'The Voice' Season 28 finale, themed the Holiday Spectacular, featured finalists performing Christmas songs with their coaches. Horan was on vocal rest, so guest performers joined his team. The finale included appearances by Journey, Sofronio Vasquez, XG, Khalid, Riley Green, and Zac Brown Band with Noah Cyrus. The contestant performances included Ross singing 'Last Christmas', McKenzie on 'Jingle Bell Rock', Nicole with 'Mary, Did You Know', Edwards performing 'This Christmas', Chambers singing 'Blue Christmas', and DEK of Hearts singing 'Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town'.
Just like past winners, Ross reportedly received $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group, though they have the option to sign with a different label, as past winners like Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery chose Big Machine Label Group, as per American Songwriter. Moreover, beyond the prize money and record deal, Ross also gained the opportunity to grow a large fan following through audience votes.
Notably, for health reasons, Horan was on vocal rest and did not perform with his team during 'The Voice' live finale, with Reba McEntire stepping in, as per The Wrap. Talking about the next season, 'The Voice' will welcome back Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine as coaches for the show. The show, titled 'The Voice: Battle of Champions', will be the first time that the panel is made up entirely of past winners. Not only that, but in the new season, each coach will start with 10 new artists instead of the usual 14. 'The Voice' Season 29 is set to premiere on February 23, 2026.
