‘Boardwalk Empire’ fan-favorite joins ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 spelling danger for Sylvester Stallone's Dwight
Gretchen Mol is heading to Tulsa, and her arrival is set to stir up trouble. The popular actor, known for her work in 'Boardwalk Empire' and Showtime's 'American Gigolo', has officially joined the cast of Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ drama 'Tulsa King'. She boards the series as a new series regular alongside Sylvester Stallone, Frank Grillo, Martin Starr, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany as production ramps up on the franchise's next chapter. As per Deadline, Mol will portray Amanda Clark, an influential Tulsa politician whose poised exterior hides sharp instincts and a willingness to wield power in unpredictable ways.
With Stallone's Dwight "The General" Manfredi continues to expand his foothold in Oklahoma's underworld. Amanda's introduction positions her as a wild-card force capable of disrupting the delicate and often volatile balance between law, politics, and organized crime in the city. Her character is expected to become deeply entangled in the shifting power dynamics around Dwight, whose expanding criminal enterprise has already collided with multiple spheres of influence across Tulsa. As Dwight pushes deeper into political territory, Amanda's arrival signals a new phase for the series, one where public office and shadowy dealings inevitably begin to overlap.
The casting also marks a reunion for Mol and Terence Winter. Winter, who helped shape 'Tulsa King' in its earliest days, has returned as executive producer and lead writer for the upcoming season. He previously collaborated with Mol on HBO's Prohibition-era mob drama 'Boardwalk Empire'. Mol starred as Gillian Darmody throughout the show's run. Their partnership now resumes under Sheridan's banner. Behind the scenes, the new season brings back a robust slate of producers. Winter joins forces once again with Sheridan, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Thomas Kelly, Bob Yari, and Keith Cox.
The series continues to be produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with global distribution handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution. As reported by Collider, filming for the new season has officially begun in Atlanta, coinciding with the debut of the season 3 finale on November 23. Driven by Stallone's powerful presence, high-stakes storytelling, and Sheridan's signature blend of grit, humor, and escalating danger, the series maintains a passionate fanbase eager to see the next round of conflicts unfold.
Mol joins 'Tulsa King' during an especially busy period in her career. She recently appeared in Lauren Meyering's 'Horsegirls', which premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, and in Ed Burns' 'Millers in Marriage', featuring Julianna Margulies and Benjamin Bratt. The latter debuted at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival before its theatrical release earlier this year. An official premiere date for the new season has not yet been announced, but with production in full swing, viewers can expect the next installment of 'Tulsa King' to arrive sometime in 2026.
