Who is Megan Danielle? ‘The Voice’ frontrunner set to flaunt sweet vocals on ‘American Idol’ Season 21
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: We are officially only weeks away from the premiere of 'American Idol' Season 21. Tons of new artists are currently waiting to be discovered in the new season, and Megan Danielle is one of the new faces we will be seeing this season.
American Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, February 19 for its Season 21 premiere. It will be the sixth season to air on ABC since the series' revival. Ryan Seacrest will return as host, and Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie will return as judges. Who is Megan Danielle?
The Christian singer-songwriter will debut on Season 21 of 'American Idol', but she’s no stranger to singing competition shows, having made it to the semifinals (Top 9) on Season 18 of 'The Voice' in the spring of 2020 after auditioning at age 17. Megan turned just one chair with her blind audition performance of 'Remedy' by Adele, but that was enough to earn a spot on Team Kelly Clarkson. She is a Georgia native. She hails from Douglasville and played softball for Douglas County High School.
She has four siblings. Megan’s parents split up when she was just 7 years old, and she was raised by a single mother. She touched upon the difficulties of her father leaving when she sang Kelly Clarkson’s 'Piece By Piece' during 'The Voice Knockouts'. Currently, she’s in a relationship with Levi Walker. “The absolute love of my life,” she wrote on Instagram. Megan works as a waitress in a restaurant her mother manages.
What has she been doing since 'The Voice'?
Megan describes herself as a Christian singer-songwriter on her Instagram bio. Since 'The Voice', the young singer has been performing regularly as a worship singer. She released a country single, 'Top of the World', in 2021. Following that she released her first Christian single 'All Around' on February 4, 2022, as a tribute to her father who passed away in late 2021. She sang the song for him in the hospital the day before he died.
Her other release to date is 'In the Rain', a duet with Levi Watkins, who wrote the song and invited her to sing on it. She has also announced that she was working on her first Christian EP. It has yet to drop, but stay tuned. Now, Megan is all set to grace the stage of 'American Idol' in the upcoming season.
