Who is James Reid? After Jay B collab, Filo star seen with GOT7’s Bambam and Starship

The Filipino singer is rumored to have teamed up with K-pop label Starship Entertainment, home to groups like Monsta X, WJSN and IVE

With K-pop going global, we are getting tons of international collaborations and fans cannot keep calm. From Thai star Mew Suppasit working with Sam Kim to DJ Shaun teaming up with Malaysian singer Yuna, multi-fans are in for a treat. It is also an exciting time for fans from the Philippines as pop star James Reid is now dipping his toes in K-pop. We first had him collaborating with GOT7’s leader Jay B on his recent release ‘Hello 2.0’ in March and now he is in South Korea hanging out with GOT7’s Bambam and visiting Starship Entertainment.

Fans were overjoyed when on July 4, we got a sneak peek into James Reid’s trip to South Korea. The CEO of his label Careless Music shared a photo of James Reid and other labelmates like idol actor Liza Soberano at Starship Entertainment’s building. With the label being home to K-pop groups like WJSN, Monsta X, IVE and Cravity, fans hope to get a collaboration of some sort. And with James Reid proving himself to be a successful GOT7 fanboy, he was also later seen with Bambam.

Who is James Reid?

James Reid is a Filo-Australian actor and singer who founded his own record label Careless Music. He started off as an actor with hit projects like ‘Diary ng Panget’, ‘This Time’ and ‘Good Vibes’. He is also part of the iconic duo with idol actor Nadine Lustre, his ex-girlfriend. Having debuted as a singer in 2017 with the successful solo album ‘Palm Dreams’, James Reid has been focusing on his singing career ever since.

His trip to South Korea is not his first time entering K-pop, as he was previously seen sporting GOT7 Mark’s merch. He then collaborated with Jay B and Taiwanese rapper ØZI for 'Hello 2.0'. Back in 2019, he had also gotten featured on the single 'Risky' by Korean rappers Sik-K and Avin.

‘So happy for him’

Fans are excited for more K-pop collaborations with James Reid spending his time in South Korea with other idols. He is also set to release a new album soon. A WJSN fan hoped, “Who said exy x james reid soon.” A GOT7 fan joked, “James reid 8th member of got7??” An IVE fan tried to manifest, “Love dive (james reid ver.).” A Monsta X fan added, “This james reid with this monsta x.” Another joked, “James reid collecting got7 members like pokemons likeee mark, jayb and then bam?!”

A fan was proud, “James Reid was really out there proving to everyone his talent. I’m not surprised at all when he had a collab with an international artist because he’s very passionate about everything he does. I'm sooo happy for him. He deserves every good thing in the world.” Another was excited, “If yall didnt know im a big fan of careless (record label of james reid) and seeing him be on the starship building is kinda freakin me out.”
