CINCINNATI, OHIO: A Cincinnati-based health system is gaining national attention owing to the premiere of a new reality TV program. Dr Yasir Khan, a Mercy Health surgeon, has been chosen to feature on The Learning Channel's (TLC) new show, 'Botched Bariatrics'. 

Dr Khan, DO is a general surgery expert in Cincinnati, Ohio, with over 13 years of medical experience. He graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in 2010.

Dr Khan practices general surgery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is connected with Jewish Hospital-Mercy Health. He obtained his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and has been in practice for 11 to 20 years. 

Dr Khan specializes in treating bariatric surgery, kidney removal surgery, and upper GI endoscopy, among other problems. Dr Khan takes Medicare, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, Blue Cross, and United Healthcare.

'Botched Bariatrics' Dr Yasir Khan uses minimally invasive and robotic options

Dr Khan joined Mercy Health Physicians in 2016 to help the Cincinnati community by offering surgical weight loss alternatives for a better life. He is pleased to work with an exceptional team that is just as enthusiastic about assisting our patients in achieving their goals. 

Dr Khan is fellowship-trained in Bariatrics, but he also provides minimally invasive and robotic treatments for common General Surgery issues such as acid reflux and complicated hernias.

Dr Yasir Khan's fellow Mercy Hospital colleague to join him in 'Botched Bariatrics'

Dr Khan and Dr Neilendu Kundu are among the physicians entrusted with attempting to correct errors committed during a patient's earlier operation. Dr Kundu relocated from Cleveland to Cincinnati to establish the Mercy Plastic Surgery Department in 2016. 

He received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University and completed his residency and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. According to a TLC press release, the specialists will deal with a variety of patients, including a lady who can only consume puréed foods and a guy who experiences explosive bowel movements.

What to expect from 'Botched Bariatrics'? 

TLC has launched a new medical makeover series called 'Botched Bariatrics', which will follow patients whose lives have been flipped upside down due to problems from their bariatric surgery. These patients are in desperate need of assistance, ranging from a woman who can only consume puréed foods to a guy with explosive bowels.

Doctors and specialists in their professions, bariatric surgeons Dr Khan, Dr Hodges, and Dr Rao, as well as plastic surgeons Dr Kundu and Dr Caplin, take on these botched bariatric patients to see if they can correct the mistakes made during prior surgery. 



 

This new series will premiere on TLC on Wednesday, May 15, at 10 pm ET/PT.
