Cody's wife, Stephanie Clark, who works at a local dance studio, became concerned when she couldn't reach her husband, who is believed to have battled alcohol abuse, pushing Clark to contact the police. Police arrived at the scene and kicked down the door when Longo didn't answer. They found him dead in the bedroom. Apparently, the actor had struggled with alcohol abuse for many years and had recently gone to rehab, according to TMZ. In the wake of his death, it was revealed that the actor was arrested in November 2020.

Cody allegedly pushed Stephanie's face with his forearm, and her jaw and neck were sore, although there were no bruises evident. The 32-year-old was booked into Montgomery County Jail on November 7, 2020, and then posted a $2,500 bond on November 10 of the same year.
