CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA: It would hardly ever happen that you decided to simply have a comfy night-in on your couch with your TV on to watch the game show 'Jeopardy!' and expect to get spoilers for a major Netflix series. Well, the chances might be low but they are not zero!
In a recent episode of the game show, a major plot point from the series 'Ozark' was spoiled through a clue. It was about the death of a main character in the finale of the series. So, if you are planning on watching the show, you might want to avoid the second-hand spoilers of 'Ozark' that will be revealed below!
'Jeopardy!' clue spoils 'Ozark'
Monday's 'Jeopardy!' episode had the one-day champ (who went on to become a two-day champ) librarian Donna Matturi facing the close second on the podium the cheesemonger Ryan Clary and the Realtor Caroline Gulick. In the second round of the episode, Caroline went on to choose the $800 clue under the category "TV" which read, "Julia Garner's Ruth Langmore did not survive the finale of this crime series." Donna buzzed in and responded with "What is Ozark?" which was awarded as the correct answer by the host Mayim Bialik.
The Netflix crime series 'Ozark' only recently ended its run in the April of 2022. Julia Garner who played Ruth Langmore was part of the main cast and while the series is not devoid of deaths and Langmore's wasn't unexpected either, it is still a major plot point that was disclosed by the game show for many viewers.
Previous similar shows spoiled by 'Jeopardy!'
The "TV" category which is part of the Double Jeopardy round is notorious for spoiling many popular shows in the recent past. The category picks up major plot points from the endings of these popular shows that only came out in recent years. It is quite surprising that the writers have not done anything about this and have continued to spoil shows through the category.
In previous incidents, a clue revealed who died at the end of the British spy-thriller show 'Killing Eve'. The popular family drama 'This Is Us', 'Silicon Valley' and 'Friday Night Lights' are also on the list of shows that have been spoiled by 'Jeopardy!'.
