The character of Wednesday Addams originated when Loring first played the iconic role in 'The Addams Family'. Wednesday was a gloomy child and had a liking for collecting creepy pets, including a black widow spider named Homer and a lizard named Lucifer. She spent her time playing with a headless doll she named Marie after Marie Antoinette. Carolyn Jones
Jones was born on April 28, 1930, and she died on August 3, 1983 in West Hollywood, California. On 'The Addams Family', Jones portrayed Morticia, the smart yet dark mother who wore the long dress with the fabric spread around her like tendrils. Her character spent her days knitting and feeding her carnivorous plants while taking care of her family. Jones has numorous film and television roles to her credit, including one on 'Marjorie Morningstar', for which she won the Golden Globe for New star of the year, and one on 'The Bachelor Party' for which she received an Academy Award nomination. Jones last role was in the series 'Capitol' in 1982.
John Astin
Astin was born on March 30, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland and is currently 92. He played Gomez, the very passionate Addams family patriarch with a penchant for losing everything on the stock market and sword fighting on the 'The Addams Family'. Some of the notable movies he was in include 'West Side Story', 'That Touch of Mink', 'Move Over, Darling' and 'Freaky Friday.' He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for his role in 'Prelude.' He last starred in an episode of 'Justice League Action' as Uncle Dudley in 2017.
Ted Cassidy
Cassidy was born on July 31, 1932 and died on January 16, 1979 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 46. On 'The Addams Family', he played Lurch, the zombie-like and stoic butler who was the family's man Friday, capable of doing almost everything. The actor is also well-known for his voiceovers. His most notable movie and TV appearances include 'Jack and the Beanstalk', 'Fantastic Four' (1967), 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' and 'The Incredible Hulk.' His last role was a posthumous voice-only role on 'Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All' in 1982.
Ken Weatherwax
Weatherwax was born on September 29, 1955 in Los Angeles, California, and died at the age of 59 on December 7, 2014 in West Hills, California due to a heart attack. He played Pugley, Wednesday's brother who was "normal" as compared to the rest of the Addams. Other than that, he also reprised his role for the movie 'Halloween with the New Addams Family' in 1997. He later lost interest in acting and found a career as a movie studio grip and set builder.
John Coogan
Coogan was born on October 26, 1914 in Los Angeles, California and died on March 1, 1984 in Santa Monica, California at the age of 69. He played the role of Uncle Fester, the "electrifying" uncle with a love for all things macabre and physically dangerous along with a streak of torturing himself, on 'The Addams Family'. Along with being an actor, he was a comedian as well. After starring in Charlie Chaplin's classic 'The Kid' in 1921 he became one of the first child stars in the history of Hollywood. He made guest appearances twice on 'The Brady Bunch' and also appeared on 'I Dream of Jeannie.' He retired in the mid '70s.

Rock was born on August 21, 1895 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died on January 14, 1978 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 82. She starred in several movies before she played her most notable role of Grandmama on 'The Addams Family.' Her character was a witch, literally. If she wasn't stirring the cauldron, whipping up some vile concoction, she was busy keeping her family out of trouble, or in trouble. After her role in the 'The Addams Family', she made a public appearance at a haunted house at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis in October, 1964.
