Why was Dan Spilo eliminated from 'Survivor' Season 39?

Dan was the first person in the show's history to be abruptly removed.

He was ruled out after making contestant Kelle Kim uncomfortable with his unwanted touch.

As he was getting into a transport boat on the show, Dan was reported to have inappropriately touched a female crew member on the leg.

Even though Dan insisted that the contact was accidental, the production team was not convinced by his claims. After consulting with the show's legal team, Dan was removed from the show.
