'Spider-Man: Brand New Day's official synopsis came as a soothing balm for Marvel faithful after the franchise's no-show during LX. Now, the focus is on the much-awaited trailer. In good news, the director Destin Daniel Cretton dropped a major trailer update.

Speaking to Big Gold Belt Media, Cretton didn't reveal the release date, but he sounded excited in his tease. "I think it’s so funny how people really want a trailer... I mean, of course it’s gonna come … it’s gonna be really good when it comes. It’s coming. It’s coming."

Slated for a July release, the timeframe is just about right for Marvel to release new footage. To add, the buzz of the four 'Avengers: Doomsday' mini-teasers finally seems to have reduced, making it another reason for the new trailer to perhaps be released sometime in March. The latest comes on the back of a trailer leak of the Tom Holland-starrer at the same time as the release of the first 'Doomsday' teaser. Sony pulled out all the stops to wipe the leaked clip from the internet, and the action only increased calls for a trailer release.

Further making the wait painful was Marvel's decision to break tradition and not feature any footage of its upcoming films during the Super Bowl. At the time, speculations were rife that a trailer for both the web-slinger's and 'Doomsday' would be released during the much-awaited San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). With the famed event usually held in the last week of July, it makes sense for the fifth 'Avengers' film to release the first full-length trailer during that time. This would mean a new trailer for 'Brand New Day' will be released much earlier to build traction following its end of production in December 2025.

The official synopsis read, "Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game, keeping New York City safe. Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. To take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!"

Safe to say, the new film is now tasked with providing fans a glimpse of what Parker has been up to since the events of 'No Way Home'. There is every possibility that the incoming trailer might reveal what Spider-Man did in the four years leading up to the present. 'Brand New Day' sees the return of Holland as the friendly neighborhood web-slinger, along with Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. Joining the cast is Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and 'Stranger Things' star Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role. The film arrives in cinemas on July 31.
