'Heated Rivalry' star Connor Storrie eyes Hollywood leap with comedy-drama ‘Peaked’ and the cast is insane
'Heated Rivalry' star Connor Storrie is being considered for an undisclosed role in the A24 comedy, 'Peaked,' according to Deadline. Furthermore, it was also reported that Laura Dern, Molly Gordon, Allie Levitan, Simone Ashley, Emma Mackey, Gabby Windey, Mitra Jouhari, and Levon Hawke had signed on for the project. The film, which will head into production before the end of this month, will be directed by Gordon from the script she co-wrote with Levitan.
Its story revolves around two girls who decide to relive their high school heydays at their 10-year reunion, but things don't go as planned. Moreover, A24 will finance and produce the movie alongside Zach Nutman, David Hinojosa, and Gordon. Levitan will executive produce. If the deal is finalized, it will mark the 25-year-old star's first major role since starring in HBO Max's queer hockey drama, 'Heated Rivalry.'
In the series, Storrie's character, Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov of the Boston Raiders, falls in love with Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) of the rival Canadian team Montreal Metros. What begins as a secret affair slowly turns into something that neither is prepared to accept, forcing them to navigate a complex romantic relationship for the better part of a decade. It is based on Rachel Reid's second book from her 'Game Changers' novel series. The six-part series originally aired on the Canadian streamer Crave and became a cultural phenomenon after getting picked up by HBO Max in late 2025. Owing to its massive success, the steamy drama has been renewed for Season 2.
Storrie spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in December 2025 about his future plans. “Really, honest to God, all I want going forward is to keep having opportunities to work and be on set and enjoy the people and the experiences along the way. I just feel so blessed to be doing the thing that I’ve always wanted to do with my life. How long that lasts, what that looks like, who I get to work with, the ups and the downs, I don’t know, but all I can do is be thankful for right now and hope that those fruits continue to grow,” he gushed.
His career has been on the rise since the release of 'Heated Rivalry.' This year began on a high note for Storrie as he and Williams presented the 'Best Supporting Female Actor' award at the Golden Globes together. A few weeks later, the duo served as the official torchbearers at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Moreover, Storrie is set to host 'Saturday Night Live' for the first time on February 28, with Mumford & Sons as the musical guest. Notably, Levitan serves as a writer on the sketch comedy series. Before 2025, Storrie appeared in small roles in the pilot episode of the comedy series 'Tiny Beautiful Things,' the coming-of-age drama film 'Riley,' and the box office dud 'Joker: Folie à Deux,' which starred Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in leading roles.
