‘Heated Rivalry’ stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie return in new romance show but with a twist
Close on the heels of the debut season of 'Heated Rivalry' on Crave and HBO Max comes the upcoming Quinn original audio romantasy 'Ember & Ice'. 'Heated Rivalry' proved to be one of the best surprise hits on television this year, and for good reason. The forbidden gay romance show, based on Rachel Reid's 'Game Changes' series of books, featured Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as rival hockey superstars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, respectively. Harping on the Crave Original show's glory, Quinn is now ready to roll out its own three-part audio erotica series with both Williams and Storrie in tow.
As confirmed by the Cosmopolitan, 'Ember & Ice' is an MM romance and stars Storrie as Dane and Williams as Finn. They are described as "two fae princes from feuding courts. They carry on a years-long forbidden affair that culminates in a pivotal moment at a treaty signing between their families." Quinn founder and CEO Caroline Spiegel had the following to say about the upcoming audio series, as per Variety, "Hudson and Connor have a really special chemistry, and we feel incredibly lucky to work with them. The way they connect with audiences and show up in the cultural conversation is exciting to watch.”
The official Quinn synopsis of 'Embers & Ice' describes the show as, "Set in a richly imagined fantasy world shaped by history, duty, and forbidden desire, Ember & Ice follows Dante and Finn, two fae princes from the rival Solari and Lunare kingdoms. The series draws listeners deep into the world of the story as it unfolds, positioning them as an intimate observer to every moment of tension, longing, and intimacy between Dane and Finn." The synopsis ends with the declaration, "At its core, Ember & Ice is a story about choosing love in defiance of expectation."
The first two parts of the audio series, titled 'Finn' and 'Dante', will drop together on the Quinn platform on December 30 at 3 A.M. E.T. and 12 A.M. P.T. This will be followed by the release of the third and final episode on January 6, 2026. In contrast to the other audio-based narratives on Quinn, 'Ember & Ice' wouldn't feature a set-insert listener and would narrate the story directly. Both Williams and Storrie have been praised far and wide for their shared chemistry on the HBO show's debut season. Their experience of working for an audio series, however, opened new doors for both the actors, as expressed by Connor, "Before working with Quinn, I had never been in the audio space. I had a lot of fun, to be completely honest."
Several notable celebrities have collaborated with Quinn in the past as narrators, and the list includes Tom Byth, Jamie Campbell Bower, Andrew Scott, Jesse Williams, Manny Jacinto, Victoria Pedretti, Lucien Laviscount, Katherine Moenning, and Thomas Doherty. All episodes of 'Heated Rivalry' are available for streaming on HBO Max and on Crave in Canada.
