‘Dune: Part Three’ posters reveal casting twist as trailer release date and time are finally announced
Fans just got their first proper glimpse of ‘Dune: Part Three’ thanks to a wave of newly released character posters. It all kicked off when Timothée Chalamet dropped his own poster online a day earlier, and that pretty much set everything in motion. Soon, Warner Bros. shared posters of major characters, along with a few unexpected reveals, such as Isaach de Bankolé joining the cast as Farok.
The posts also revealed another casting choice that has people talking. Robert Pattinson is officially involved in the project as the villain Scytale, as confirmed by his character poster. This comes after Pattinson spoke about filming, saying, “When I was doing ‘Dune,’ it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything. It was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis: ‘Whatever you want!’” Another face joining the mix is Anya Taylor-Joy, who fans briefly spotted at the end of the previous film. This time, she’s stepping fully into the role of Alia, Paul’s younger sister.
All three, Pattinson, Taylor-Joy, and de Bankolé, are featured among the batch of nine character posters released, each offering just enough to spark theories but not enough to confirm anything outright. Alongside those three, fresh posters also spotlight Florence Pugh as Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Jason Momoa as Hayt, Zendaya as Chani, and, of course, Chalamet as Paul Atreides. However, posters are just appetizers. What everyone really wants is answers. What happens next to Paul? Where does Chani stand after everything that went down? And how much screen time are fans getting from Ferguson this time? Right now, most of these questions don’t have clear answers, but viewers can expect to know more when the first trailer arrives on TikTok on March 17 at 9 a.m. PT or 12 p.m. ET.
The next chapter draws its story from 'Dune Messiah', the second installment in the 'Dune' series by Frank Herbert. Moreover, the release date is locked in for December 18. The whole ‘Dune’ universe has been on a steady climb. The first two films, ‘Dune: Part One’ and ‘Dune: Part Two’, pulled in over $1 billion combined at the global box office and picked up multiple Oscars along the way. And it’s not just the films anymore. The world expanded even further with ‘Dune: Prophecy’, a prequel set thousands of years before Paul Atreides ever set foot on Arrakis. Created by Alison Schapker, the series was released in November 2024.
