BLACKPINK’s year-ending mega live streaming concert ‘The Show’ has been postponed to next year January, a new report has revealed. YG Entertainment took the decision amid the new rise in Covid-19 cases, a statement said. The new date for the live streaming concert is January 31, a tweet from Blackpink announced.

On December 17, an official statement from YG Entertainment spoke about the concerns at hand which made the team postpone the show. The statement read, “We sincerely thank all of the fans who are waiting for 'YG Palm Stage – 2020 BLACKPINK: The Show'. Unfortunately, we are announcing that the concert that was scheduled for December 27 has been postponed to January 31."

"It is an inevitable decision that had to be made due to the rise of social distancing level in metropolitan areas to prevent the spread of Covid-19, so we ask fans for their kind understanding.” The statement added, “The local government that has jurisdiction over the concert’s venue has given an administrative order that prohibits gatherings of more than 10 people until December 28, which is stricter than the government’s 2.5 level social distancing (limits assembly of more than 50 people).”

The statement noted the refund policy for the live streaming concert stating, “Those who have purchased tickets will be automatically refunded through their original method of purchase. Please refer to YouTube’s email regarding cancellations and refunds. Those who would like to watch the concert on the new date can sign up for membership in the same way as before after they receive a confirmation email of the refund. Membership-only content will be available from 10 am KST on December 17, 2020, until 10 am KST on February 17, 2021.

After the new announcement, ‘The Show’ started trending on Twitter as Blinks all over the world thanked YG Entertainment for taking Covid-19 concerns seriously and keeping everyone safe. A fan posted, “Health and safety come first so it's very understandable. Stay safe everyone.” Another fan group posted, “Blinks will continue to be SO excited for 'THE SHOW'! We love & will always support the girls. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL END OF JANUARY.”

Another fan said, “The fck. I was about to complain for the change date but looking at the girls calms me down. Anyway, the show poster is hot.” A Lisa fan said, “We understand! Safety first. BUT my heart is not safe because of this shot holy sht Lalisa Manoban!” A  fan said, “Stay safe and healthy queens.”
