The CW’s ‘Walker’, a reimagining of the long-running series ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’, stars Jared Padalecki as the titular Cordell Walker, a widower and father with his own moral code who returns home to Austin, Texas after being undercover for nearly a year. But back home is a whole new kind of struggle. Walker makes an effort to fit in, especially with his rebellious teenage daughter Stella (Violet Brinson), who felt he had abandoned his children.
Episode 3 of the show, titled ‘Bobble-head’, saw Walker continue to try to reconnect with Stella, who was soon to go to court for possession of marijuana. The episode also sees Walker's life get more complicated when his childhood best friend, Hoyt Rawlins (guest star Matt Barr), returns to town. While Walker’s mother Abeline (Molly Hagan) will be thrilled about this, Walker’s partner Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan) is not.

Well, it becomes obvious that she is not wrong to do that. Hoyt steals her car at the very beginning of the episode, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Hoyt, as the episode progresses, is revealed to be working for an arms dealer the Texas rangers are after. Walker’s blind spot for this face from the past comes in the way of him doing his job. But ultimately, Walker has his way. He lets go of his affection for Hoyt and uses his knowledge of the man to locate him and subsequently nab him, while also causing a sizable dent for the arms cartel.
The episode also saw Liam (Keegan Allen), Walker’s ADA brother who stepped in during his absence, make peace with the return of his brother. Liam had become a sort of surrogate father to the children. But he realized that he could not be that person anymore and that his children had to learn to respect their father again. The episode, for the first time, saw Walker not obsess with the death of his wife Emily (guest star Genevieve Padalecki).
What happens next?
As per IMDb, Episode 4 of ‘Walker’ is titled ‘Don't Fence Me In’. The episode will see Micki uncomfortable with the spotlight Captain James (Coby Bell) puts on her during a current investigation. Walker learns there was trouble while he was away. His son August (Kale Culley) stumbles upon some secrets from his father's time undercover. What can these secrets be? Something to do with his mother’s murder? Only time will tell.

Season 1 of ‘Walker’ premiered on January 21 on The CW. New episodes of ‘Walker’ will air on the network every Thursday. Every episode of the show will be available to stream on The CW app and CWTV.com, the day after broadcast, for free and without a subscription. Episode 4 of ‘Walker’, titled ‘Don't Fence Me In’, written by Albert S Ruddy, Leslie Greif, Paul Haggis, Christopher Canaan and April Fitzsimmons and directed by John T Kretchmer, will air on February 4, at 8 pm Eastern Time and 7 pm Central Time, only on The CW.
