YG Entertainment’s K-pop group iKon is coming back with a new project prior to entering the much-anticipated show Mnet’s ‘Kingdom’ and fans are excited for the K-pop group to make his comeback after a year. Their last EP released in February 2020 titled ‘I Decide’.

For the unversed, Mnet’s ‘Kingdom’, a sequel to Mnet’s ‘Queendom’ is a reality show for K-pop groups where they will compete against each other in various rounds by creating music, comparing their latest comeback streams, and performing covers of other musicians. As a part of Mnet’s Kingdom rules, all the groups participating in it will have to release a comeback album that will be directly related to their ‘Kingdom’ success.

When is iKon making their comeback?

YG Entertainment’s group iKon announced their comeback through a poster which read ‘coming soon’. Though the date of the comeback isn’t specified yet, fans are guessing that it will be soon as Mnet’s Kingdom is starting from April 1. Reportedly, the comeback will have to be at a considerable time before that.

Originally a seven-piece group, currently iKon has six members Bobby, Jin-hwan, Ju-ne, Yun-hyeong, Dong-hyuk, and Chan-woo. Recently Bobby made his solo comeback with ‘Lucky Man’ which also featured his K-pop mate Ju-ne and Donghyuk. Their last comeback ‘I Decide’ with the title track ‘Dive’ peaked number three on the Gaon chart along with charting at 5 in Billboards Japan Downloads chart, plus ranking 16 on Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart.

Fan reactions

The comeback poster has fueled the fans’ anticipation from the YG Entertainment’s boy group. A fan wrote, “GO KING! WE DONE RESTING! iKON x iKONIC!” Another said, “DID I JUST NOTICE NOW THAT JINHWAN IS BACK WITH HIS BLUE HAIR?!?!?!?!? MY MOST FAVORITE COLOR HE HAD???? iKON x iKONIC” while an excited fan shared, “OHMYGHAAAD I JUST WOKE UP AND GOT A GOODNEWS AAAAAAAAAA THE KINGS ARE COMING!!!!” Another user pointed out the clash between Blackpink fans and Ikon fans stating, "y'all are literally so disrespectful in the comments, yea we all want rosies solo but spamming it in the comments is gonna get you nowhere.
