'Bridgerton' Season 4 has officially joined the long and proud tradition of shows accidentally letting the present sneak into the past. And this time, it is a barely-there flesh-colored bandage sitting on the ear of Katie Leung, who plays Araminta, as per Cosmopolitan. Blink, and you might miss it. Pause, rewind, zoom in, and suddenly you're part of the internet discourse. Fans with laser-sharp attention spans were quick to notice the small adhesive, which appears to be covering a piercing. Screenshots began floating around social media almost immediately.

@chelsi_or_yesi dearest gentle readers...it appears this might be Cho Chang after all.. bandaids in this era?! 👀 The ton want to know. @Bridgerton #bridgerton #bandaid #netflix ♬ Oh my god what is that - vezelite

The moment didn't take long to start a debate, because nothing unites fandom quite like spotting something that technically shouldn't be there. Some viewers brushed it off, pointing out that this isn't even the first time something like this has slipped through on the show. One commenter reminded others that they "saw another post where an actresses cartilage piercing wasn't covered or edited out during the garden party I believe and people were going nuts over it." Others, however, weren't interested in debating historical accuracy down to the millimeter.

A different voice in the comments pushed back hard, questioning, "People in the comments complaining about seeing piercing holes the actors have are wild. They have a lives outside of their roles why do you even care about a teeny tiny hole in their ear or cheek?" It's hard to argue with that logic. At the end of the day, the bandage is subtle, blends into the skin, and disappears the second you stop actively hunting for it. No scene is derailed. No plot collapses. The ton survives. Still, history suggests Netflix might fix it anyway. When 'Stranger Things' accidentally let an Under Armour logo sneak into its final season, the streamer edited it out after fans noticed.

No announcement. No apology tour. Just a silent tweak and onward we go. It wouldn't be shocking if 'Bridgerton' follows the same path in the coming days, smoothing over the ear in question and pretending it never happened. Because while the internet loves a good "gotcha" moment, it loves a clean frame even more. Meanwhile, 'Bridgerton' Season 4 has come out swinging. In its first four days alone, the new season pulled in 39.7 million views, as reported by Variety. The numbers make it the most-watched title on Netflix during the week of January 27 through February 1.

This season shifts its romantic spotlight to Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, and fans have clearly been waiting for this pairing. Their story has officially arrived, though Netflix is playing the long game with its release strategy. Viewers can binge, but only partially. Part 1, which includes episodes 1 through 4, dropped on Thursday, January 29. The second half of the season is being held back, with episodes 5 through 8 scheduled to arrive a month later on Thursday, February 26, landing at 12:00 am PT and 3:00 am ET.
