FOX RIVALS TUCKER UP: Tucker Carlson's firing fuels rumors about next move, as #boycottfox trends
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In the wake of his shocking exit from Fox News, Tucker Carlson has undoubtedly become one of the most popular free agents in the news industry. Multiple cable news networks and media organizations, including NewsNation and Newsmax, have already started eyeing the longtime TV host, the Daily Mail reported. Other theories suggest that Carlson might launch his own online show or even consider a political career by running for president in the future.
Carlson’s exit from Fox News came a few days after the network settled a defamation lawsuit agreement with Dominion Voting Systems worth over $787 million. “Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the network announced on Monday. Carlson reportedly learned about his departure only a few hours before the announcement, the Daily Mail alleged.

Multiple cable networks are keen to hire Tucker Carlson
A few hours after Carlson’s departure from Fox News, NewsNation expressed their interest in hiring the political commentator, TMZ reported. However, Carlson would likely get a salary far below from what he earned so far. The host reportedly received upwards of $10 million per year at Fox News, the Daily Mail noted. Newsnation previously hired Chris Cuomo in October 2022 after he was fired from CNN.
Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy also expressed his interest in hiring Carlson. “For a while, Fox News has been moving to become establishment media, and Tucker Carlson's removal is a big milestone in that effort,” he told the Daily Mail. “Millions of viewers who liked the old Fox News have made the switch to Newsmax, and this will only fuel that trend,” he added.
One America Network founder and CEO Robert Herring also said that he “would like to extend an invitation to Carlson to meet for negotiation to become a part of the OAN team,” a report about Carlson's departure from Fox News on the OAN website stated.
Tucker Carlson may launch his own online show
Another theory about Carlson’s next career move suggests that the TV show can now launch his own podcast or YouTube program. Fox News alumni Glenn Beck, who founded his own company named Blaze Media, already provided a similar offer to Carlson.
“We would love to have you here, you won't miss a beat, and together the two of us will tear it up,” Beck said while addressing Carlson’s exit from Fox News. Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly earned immense recognition in a similar manner after launching her own podcast, ‘The Megyn Kelly Show,’ in 2020, three years after parting ways with Fox.
Tucker Carlson might venture into politics
Carlson, who is one of the most famous American political commentators today, might consider his own move into politics, the Daily Mail opined. The TV host has often been hailed as a possible Republican presidential candidate in recent years. Carlson was seen as a promising candidate by other commentators, strategist and former Trump campaign officials, a 2020 Politico article noted.
The media personality has also been viewed as an ideal Trump successor and would certainly earn support from the former president’s followers. It is unlikely that Carlson would launch a bid to run for president in 2024 due to the nature of his Fox News exit and Donald Trump’s candidature. However, the TV host may take the opportunity to lay the foundation for a potential political career and eventual candidacy.
'He has the world to choose from'
Fans were also quick to speculate about Carlson’s next move after his Fox News exit. “He's co-founder of Daily Caller. That's my guess,” wrote one. “The White House hopefully,” wished another. “Someone suggested VP for Trump?” a third fan guessed. One fan said, “Newmax, here's your chance...” while another added “I heard CNN has an opening. If they would like their ratings to go up!” Another tweeted, “He has the world to choose from. Wherever he goes, we will follow him. BOYCOTT FOX!” Whilst, someone added, “He'll have a podcast that rivals Joe Rogan.”
