‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 finale is coming to theaters — here’s how to grab tickets before they sell out
The cliffhanger ending of 'Stranger Things' Volume 1 has not only heightened fans' curiosity but also made the wait for the next installment harder than ever. While Netflix's hit show is enjoying a three-part unique release schedule, fans can also watch the final episode on the big screen. According to reports, the last episode of the sci-fi blockbuster will receive a theatrical release, and here’s how you can book your tickets to see it.
'Stranger Things' fans are gearing up for the highly anticipated season 5 finale, as ticket bookings officially open in the US. For the first time, the two-hour finale will not only stream on Netflix but also be shown in over 350 theaters across the US and Canada, giving fans a cinematic experience. With demand expected to be high, we strongly recommend making early reservations. Tickets for these limited screenings go on sale Tuesday, December 2, 2025, according to Poprant.
Notably, fans can buy tickets through Regal Cinemas and Megaplex Theatres, while Canadian viewers can book via Cineplex. Tickets are also available on Fandango, Atom Tickets, and Ticketmaster. This limited theatrical release marks a major milestone for the franchise, giving fans a rare chance to experience the season 5 finale on the big screen alongside its Netflix premiere.
Netflix is also grabbing major headlines for rolling out 'Stranger Things' Season 5 in three holiday-timed parts. The first four episodes premiered on Wednesday, November 26, just before Thanksgiving; the next three will drop on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25; and the super-sized series finale will arrive on New Year's Eve, Wednesday, December 31. Each batch will release at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT, a shift from Netflix's usual midnight drops, giving the final season a primetime event-style rollout, as per Marie Claire.
Ahead of season 5, the creator duo, Ross and Matt Duffer, also confirmed that the final chapter of 'Stranger Things' would continue the longer-episode trend seen in season 4. Ross revealed the runtimes for the first four episodes, debunking rumors that each installment would stretch to 90 minutes. The season opens with 'The Crawl,' with a duration of 1 hour, 8 minutes, followed by 'The Vanishing of…,' lasting 54 minutes, 'The Turnbow Trap,' with a runtime of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 'Sorcerer' being 1 hour, 23 minutes long. Runtimes for the remaining episodes, 'Shock Jock,' 'Escape from Camazotz,' and 'The Bridge' remain unconfirmed, while the finale, 'The Rightside Up,' is expected to run roughly two hours.
