ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: Finally, 'Selling the OC' is back! We're especially intrigued by the brewing controversy involving real estate brokers Gio Helou and Kayla Cardona.

In the third season of 'Selling the OC', Gio and Kayla vie for a coveted $28 million listing, which premiered on Netflix on May 3, 2024. Ultimately, Kayla eventually proved herself to be the ideal agent for the property, leaving Gio upset.

Gioclaims he played a pivotal role in securing the property for Oppenheim Group. He noticed that the listing, held by an agent at a different brokerage, had expired. According to Gio, both his employer, Jason Oppenheim, and "office management" reached out to him regarding the opportunity.

It turns out that Gio was once employed by this agency; therefore, when Jason and management approached him, they requested strategies for getting the agent to deliver the listing to the Oppenheim Group. Despite Gio's assistance, Jason awarded the listing to Kayla when the Oppenheim Group ultimately acquired it, a decision Gio perceived as unfair.

Did Kayla Cardona sell the Bayside House in 'Selling the OC' Season 3?

Throughout the entire season, everyone shares their opinion on whether Kayla is prepared to handle such a high-end listing. Unfortunately, the season finale leaves viewers in suspense as Kayla is depicted removing the Oppenheim Group sign from the building's grounds. Naturally, this begs the question for a lot of viewers: Will she be able to sell the property? Yes, indeed!

Kayla communicated with Tudum in May 2024 and gave him the specifics of the deal. "It was obviously the biggest listing I've had, and there were a lot of ups and downs," she told the outlet. "We bent over backwards for a lot of things, but it turned out to be great. We sold it in the 11th hour. It was a quick close for $25 million, so I’m very thankful," she added.

Kayla's career possibilities have never been better, especially now that she has some extra cash in her pocket. "I have a lot of great things [going on] now. I’m still, of course doing my real estate, and I’ve been picking up a lot of momentum. I’m now a certified life coach. I brought back my podcast. I’ve been speaking on stages. I’m just giving back to the community, and it’s been very fulfilling." she said to the outlet.

According to Kayla, she took a brief trip and managed to catch up on her taxes. However, she reinvested most of her earnings into her company, as she also runs a life coaching firm.

"It was nice because it gave me room; and then I also invested in a podcast studio, and I brought back my podcast. So that’s been extremely helpful," said the woman to Realtor.com.
