CinemaCon 2026 teased some of the most highly anticipated projects that are set to release soon. Held at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, the convention featured exciting updates about upcoming titles, including ‘The Brink of War’, ‘Runner’, ‘Angel and the Badman’, ‘Paddington 4’, ‘Escape from New York’, ‘The Howling’, and more. Revelations came in the form of release dates, trailers, first-look images, extended film scenes, and concept art, increasing the excitement surrounding the projects.
Angel Studios revealed the trailer for ‘The Brink of War’ at the event and announced that the film is set to release on August 14, 2026. The film follows Jeff Daniels (playing President Reagan), along with Jared Harris (playing Mikhail Gorbachev), as they try to form a nuclear deal in 1986. The short clip features the President delivering an iconic line, as he says, "We're not trying to win a war. We're trying to end one." Angel Studios also released the teaser for 'Runner' at the convention. The video features some action-packed scenes as Alan Ritchson's character is tasked with delivering a new liver to a sick child. However, to complete his mission, he must fight several goons who want to steal the liver.
'Angel and the Badman' from Angel Studios also featured at the CinemaCon 2026. A remake of the 1947 John Wayne film of the same name, the title stars Tommy Lee Jones, Zachary Levi, and Neal McDonough in lead roles. Angel Studios also gave fans updates about ‘Zero A.D.’, set to release on Christmas 2026, ‘Drummer Boy’, scheduled to premiere on November 6, and ‘Hershey’, which will release on Thanksgiving 2026. CinemaCon 2026 Day 1 then saw a major announcement as StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh revealed that 'Paddington 4' was in development. While there is currently no release date, Marsh mentioned that the project is currently in the works with “world-renowned comedy writers.”
She also mentioned that an “animated feature expanding the franchise” is also in development. This means fans can likely expect multiple ‘Paddington’ movies. StudioCanal also announced that new iterations of John Carpenter’s ‘Escape From New York’ and Joe Dante’s ‘The Howling’ are in development, and further information is currently awaited. However, it is important to note that the projects are referred to as a "reimagining" and not remakes. Other projects announced at CinemaCon 2026 Day 1 were ‘Pippi Longstocking and Mr. Men’, ‘Ink’, ‘Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom’, ‘Ice Cream Man’, and ‘Everybody Wants to F*** Me.’
