Wendy Williams spotted drinking on frenzied NYC evening at gay bar five months after rehab
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Five months following her release from rehab and amidst her ongoing health issues, Wendy Williams was reportedly observed drinking during a wild night out in New York City on March 17. Rob Shuter, the host of the 'Naughty But Nice' podcast, told Page Six that the diva "looked lonely" while she was by herself but "lit up like a Christmas tree" when she saw someone she knew.
Sources told Page Six, Williams, 58, who is planning a comeback to television, visited venues like Fresco by Scotto and the gay bar The Townhouse while club hopping in Manhattan. Williams is reportedly getting ready to make her comeback and has plans to have her life turned into reality programs. According to sources close to the former talk show host, a TV crew had already recorded her most recent outing.

"She kept saying she wanted to get drunk tonight. She wasn’t hiding [her drinking]," a diner stated to the publication. The former host further claimed that she is moving to LA in three weeks. Williams said, according to the source, "She told this table that she was looking for love — and like in Sex and the City, she’s willing to f***."
Before heading to The Townhouse, the group was greeted at the restaurant by former 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Kim DePaola. Williams is alleged to have asked the doorman there, "Do you watch ‘The Wendy Williams Show?’ I’m Wendy Willams." During her visit to the club, the celebrity also posed for pictures with fans, Daily Mail reported.
Why did Wendy Williams visit rehab?
In October, it was publicized that the celebrity was "home and healing" after returning to rehab to focus on "health and wellness" as a result of a pattern of emotional instability and charges of drug abuse. "Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects," per a statement from her publicist Shawn Zanotti.
Williams has already received therapy at facilities in Florida and New York. According to a source who told Page Six Williams had switched from drinking wine to straight vodka, Williams' substance abuse issues at the time had "gotten worse." Her overall health, which one source referred to as "failing," has suffered due to her inability to control her drinking. They said, "She can't stop drinking and she needs to stop drinking; it's just making her health worse."
Wendy Williams' upcoming projects
Page Six reported, the talk show host recently revealed to a photographer that she had "formerly retired," to give air to the rumors of her comeback. According to her representative, Williams "is working on several projects," and she "is ready to get things rolling and get back to being Wendy Williams." The also publication stated that she was still working on her podcast, 'The Wendy Williams Experience'.
A second project includes a reality show that Williams was seen shooting at Fresco by Scotto last month. According to a prior report, Wendy is ready to return to work and is concentrating on "her overall wellness." The celebrity further claimed to be on 'The View' and 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'.
