Wendy Williams living a lonely existence in NYC penthouse, pals worried her podcast will never take off
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Wendy Williams is reportedly leading a rather lonely existence in her New York City penthouse. Her life is nothing like it used to be, especially considering the full schedule she once had as a daytime talk show megastar.
Sources with knowledge say they are doubtful her hotly-anticipated show, 'The Wendy Experience Podcast', will ever take off the ground. Her close friends, who haven't seen her for quite a while, are worried for the troubled star's well-being. However, the former host has recently been reaching out to her former pals to meet up.

'She goes off into tangents'
"She's been calling people saying like 'Hey, let's have dinner,' but she's acting like all this time hasn't passed," an insider told The Sun. "It's this out-of-the-blue call with no update on how she's doing or anything. When she reaches out, she acts as if we went out to eat last week." Furthermore, the source said that when Wendy talks about anything personal, she eventually goes into a diatribe about how she's single. "When you finally do get her to give you an update about how she's been she goes off into these tangents about being single, looking for love, and all this other stuff," the insider said, noting that it was strange the star never mentioned any upcoming projects she's working on.
When will the podcast drop?
Another source close to Wendy noted that her podcast website features an open call for random people to sign up to be a guest on her show. "This sign-up form for random people to appear on her podcast is a little strange," the insider offered, adding that they aren't aware of any developments to suggest that Wendy's new podcast is ever coming to fruition with any "major show carriers." It's worth noting that the former talk host appeared at a local New York radio station WBLS event back in November and promised her audience that her eponymous podcast will launch “in the next few weeks.”
Wendy's publicist told The Sun this week that while they couldn't give a time frame, the podcast is "coming soon." They added, "Wendy's podcast is coming to life and is in its planning stage. Wendy is enthused to get out there and is building a product that is precise and exemplifies her and the needs of her fanbase. All good things take time!"
Wendy has had it rough over the past year. A financial guardian -- identified as guardianship expert and attorney Sabrina Morrissey -- took control of the star's finances back in May following a series of reported health issues. The guardian is reportedly in charge of the 58-year-old former TV host's estate and therefore responsible for who in Wendy's circle can receive money or payments from her bank. The high-profile attorney's biography heralds her expertise in "estate administration, guardianships, and litigation." Wendy also officially lost her iconic daytime talk show in June.
