'I am formerly retired': Wendy Williams shops for 'kitty litter', says she wants to be on 'The View'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Talk show host Wendy Williams recently expressed her desire to appear on 'The View' as she revealed her hectic schedule for the coming days while shopping at Petco. The 58-year-old reportedly looked frazzled while browsing through the shelves at the store on Saturday, February 25.
'The Wendy Williams Show' host was sporting a casual look that comprised a black track jacket and fluffy boots along with a dash of bright pink lipstick. During her outing, she told the paparazzi that she was “shopping for kitty litter because I have a wax museum in Paris and one in California." Williams then revealed her hectic schedule, stating, "I'm going for a week in Paris and then three weeks in California and then immediately fly back,” according to The Sun.

Williams continued that she wanted to be on TV. "I want to be on TV, stuff like Seth Meyers, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, The View,” she said, adding, "Stuff like that - I am formerly retired." She has not been on TV since June 2022, when she lost her long-running daytime mainstay 'The Wendy Williams Show'.

Is Wendy Williams working on a new reality show?
It was recently reported that Williams was all set to make her comeback with plans to turn her life into a reality series. Sources close to the former talk show host revealed that her recent outing had already been taped by a TV crew. "Wendy is filming a reality show. She rocked up to New York celebrity hotspot Fresco by Scotto and had a producer hand out Non-Disclosure Agreements to patrons," sources told The US Sun.
They also stated that Williams arrived at an NYC restaurant on Tuesday, February 21, without a reservation and none of the staffers even knew she was coming. "It wasn't like this was pre-planned,” sources said. "When you see the women on the Real Housewives, you see them just walk into places, but really production scouts out the restaurant in advance. They set it up, there are full permissions involved. Wendy just figured this is her favorite restaurant, so she just showed up!" eyewtinesses who saw the production team said.
They added, "This did not look like a crew hired by a network, this feels like a very homemade reality show. It appears this will be a show about her life after The Wendy Williams Show."
Wendy Williams' health struggles
Williams had recently allayed fans' concerns as she opened up about her health struggles, including the time when she held up her foot to show how bloated and discolored it had grown as a result of her lymphedema. She said she only had feeling in "maybe 5 percent of my feet" due to the disease. "Normally I would be in a wheelchair. I'm not in a wheelchair. I stand up," she said, explaining that when she stands "all I do is look down cause I don't wanna fall down."
