VFX tech spills beans on how Ant-Man 3 CGI was compromised for another major production
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' was released on February 17, it fell face-first into the deep pit of disappointment. While the score on Rotten Tomatoes didn't do great for the film's publicity, it did give them enough critic reviews that pointed out some major flaws with the movie. The common element in every critic review was the bad CGI effects, considering most parts of the movie was filmed in an alternate reality, that takes place on digitally-created set pieces, which was ignored and compromised, because of the work and attention needed on another major Marvel Studios film.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' seems like it went through a major understaffing problem, as most of the VFX artists working on the film were pulled off from it to focus on a project that was apparently much more important than Ant-Man's third installment.

'I hate Marvel for this'
Marvel films have amassed a large fan base over the years, who are as enthusiastic about the films as they are vocal about their failure to perform well in theaters. When the reports of Marvel sidelining Ant-Man's CGI to focus on another major deal, 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment towards Marvel Studios for this mishap. "I hate Marvel for this. They need to get a grip, take their time doing these movies because they NEED TIME. Overworking an understaffed VFX team should be illegal." wrote a user, "I would say I’m surprised but I’m not. Been like this for years. They don’t have pride in what they make. It’s all the same wish washy stuff, they know they can make whatever and attach “marvel” to it and make money," added another.

After the news broke out, fans started pointing out some major CGI fails, "Don't get me wrong I loved Black Panther b u t ... IronHeart looks like a power ranger. It looks plastic. I preferred the look of the iron man suit. The scratches and bullet holes just made it feel more real than this." expressed a user. "They’ve been taking shortcuts since Civil War" chimed another.

Marvel is permanently seared
An anonymous VFX technician reached out to share some insight on the understaffing issue with Vulture, where they shared about the issues that have led to the movie's downfall, and related the error to the incident that happened with James Cameron' on 'Titanic'. "This was like a second wave of what happened with James Cameron on Titanic, where the compositors were basically taking naps under their desks, because there wasn't enough time between shifts to go back home, then come back," an anonymous VFX technician told the website. "Now, the entirety of the industry that has been touched by Marvel is permanently seared, and that's what's causing the most burnout."
