Valerie Bertinelli is 'over the moon' as she turns 63 after braving the 'hardest 6 years' of her life
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Valerie Bertinelli is living her brighter days. Bertinelli celebrated her 63rd birthday on April 24, which is a significant milestone for her – it's her first birthday since her divorce from ex-husband Tom Vitale in November 2022.
In an Instagram post, she stated she was at the Amsterdam airport and would be spending her birthday in Europe watching her son, Wolfgang Van Halen, play. In the video, she spins around her rolling luggage as Connor Price's 'Grateful' plays in the background.

"I am so over the moon grateful on my birthday this year!," she wrote in the caption. The actress added, "I have survived the hardest six years of my life and now I'm in Amsterdam (one of my favorite places on earth with sweet special memories)." She then revealed intriguing information about her son, who goes by the stage name Mammoth WVH. Bertinelli wrote "And on Thursday, I get to watch my son open for Metallica! Life is good."
‘Journaling, therapy, and especially humor’
Bertinelli filed for divorce from Vitale in May 2022, and the couple split legally in November 2022. She was also married to the late Eddie Van Halen, who was born in Amsterdam and and owned the band, Van Halen, from 1981 until 2007. Bertinelli has already talked openly about persons who have experienced emotional abuse in their relationships. "When it comes to emotional abuse and mental abuse, it's not talked about, because you just think, 'I'm not being physically abused, so it's not abuse,'" Bertinelli said in an Instagram story in January. She has stated that she is recuperating via "journaling, therapy, and especially humor."
‘I got some good news, and I got some bad news’
The Hot in Cleveland actor revealed in an Instagram Story earlier in April that the 14th season of Valerie's Home Cooking will be the final after the Food Network canceled the show last summer. However, at the time, an inside source informed People magazine that the actress would remain on the network's Kids Baking Championship. According to the insider, she has already begun filming for the upcoming season. Bertinelli and Duff Goldman will co-host the competition series.
She was visibly unhappy in the Instagram video breaking the news, expressing her displeasure with the decision to cancel her programme, which debuted in 2015. She also confessed she hoped the Food Network "would change their minds" about canceling the show. "I got some good news, and I got some bad news," Bertinelli said in a video. She added, "The good news is that tomorrow at 12 noon on Food Network, the 14th season of Valerie's Home Cooking starts airing all-new episodes. The bad news is that it's its final season."
"Food Network canceled us last summer, I have no idea why. And I didn't say anything last summer because honestly, I was hoping they would change their mind. But they have not. So this is it, this is the final season," continued Bertinelli. She said she "loved making this show," adding that "it was such a dream come true. Every single part of it brought me so much joy."
