'Unpolished': Lexi Marton's wins her customer's heart with her creative take on music by crafting a boombox and disco ball on nails
Lexi Marton is known for her unique ideas for nail art and with an Instagram fan following of more than one million, it is no surprise that Lexi is one of the best in her game. In the season premiere of 'Unpolished', Lexi allowed viewers to dive into her world as she showcased her talent and ability by bringing musical nail art to life.
Lexi was paid a visit by Valerie who wanted her nails to display her love for music. Valerie revealed that she was heading for a music convention and wanted her nails to stand out as she attended it. She thought it would be one of the best ways to impress people who are already working in the music industry.
However, Valerie had an unusual request. She asked Lexi if there was a way that the music could be incorporated in the nails itself. Valerie loved the idea of having nails that could play music and even though she seemed optimistic about this, Lexi had to second guess if there was any way she could make it happen.
Despite her doubts, Lexi knew that she could not let her down and decided to do some brainstorming to figure out how she could incorporate these things into it. After thinking through it, Lexi was finally able to bring the idea to life by using a press-on that allowed the music to play as and when the nail was pressed.
To make it more relatable to music, Lexi decided to use a disco ball and a boombox. She used several panels to ensure that the music is played when Valerie wants it to. Meanwhile, for the disco ball, Lexi connected it to a motor to ensure that it spun when it was pressed.
While Lexi's first attempt at the disco ball did not produce fruitful results, she got the result that she wanted during her second attempt. Lexi was thrilled to see her efforts come to life. However, the main test was Valerie loving the nail art that she had created. Luckily, she loved what Lexi had done and how unique it was. Valerie showed off her new nails as she stated that she got confidence just by looking at them.
'Unpolished' airs on Sundays at 10 pm on TLC.
