Amber Heard's explosive interview on Today's show with host Savannah Guthrie where Heard broke silence on her 'unfair' defamation trial against Johnny Depp created a stir among the users on social media. During the bombshell interview, Heard stood by her emotional testimony and accused Depp of lying on the witness stand about being abusive. "To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony," Heard firmly stated. There were many who were highly critical of the interview and criticized Guthrie for her "unethical" approach to the case. Whereas, some users seemed to be in support of Guthrie for her witty approach to the case.

The first part of the interview streamed on Thursday, June 16, while the second will stream on Friday, June 17. However, the teaser of the interview was played on the 'Today Show' on Wednesday, June 15. In the first half of the interview, Guthrie grilled the actress on whether she instigated physical violence against Depp, questioned her about recordings that Heard claims were taken out of context and informed her that the First Amendment doesn’t protect “lies.” And throughout the interview, Heard lacked insightfulness on abuse.

The interview broke out on the internet. There were many who slammed Guthrie for interviewing Heard. However, there were many who applauded the wittiness of Guthrie and her way to approach the interview. A user defended Guthrie by saying, "I disagree. Savannah challenged her with excellent questions. She’s a journalist. Don’t disparage her for granting an interview."
