'Underwater': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about horror-thriller starring Kristen Stewart
Come January next year and we'll see Kristen Stewart explore the depths of the ocean and have a hair-raising experience while at it. 'Underwater' sees her as one of the crew members of a stranded submarine trying to get back to safety. Touted as a horror thriller, the film sees her in a new avatar and will be her next big release after 'Charlie’s Angels,' coming out on November 15. Here's what we know about the movie so far.
Release
'Underwater' is set to release on January 10, 2020
Plot
IMDb's plotline reads: "A crew of underwater researchers must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory." However, a nasty surprise awaits them as an unknown creature realizes the foreign presence and starts taking out the team members one by one.
Eventually, it's up to Stewart to tame the unknown entity and get to relative safety. Going by the way the trailer looks, the creature looks a lot like the Alien from the movie by the same name.
Cast
Kristen Stewart ('Twilight') plays Norah Price. Joining her are Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) as Captain, Jessica Henwick ('Game of Thrones') as Emily, John Gallagher Jr. 'The Newsroom), Mamoudou Athie ('The Front Runner), T.J. Miller ('Silicon Valley') as Paul and Gunner Wright ('The Pinch') as Lee
Writer /Director
William Eubank, known for the trippy 2014 sci-fi flick 'The Signal' directs the upcoming horror-thriller movie. Brian Duffield and Adam Cozad helm the screenplay.
Trailer
The trailer starts off with a radio message saying the crew was 5000 miles from land would be descending seven miles to the bottom of the ocean. Stewart looks like monitoring the daily activities of things on the ocean floor. It's only a matter of time before disaster strikes and the whole crew is trapped in a leaking ship. The rest of the footage is about how horror takes over after an unknown creature (s) starts killing the crew members.
There isn't much footage about the creature and the viewers too are left in the dark about what exactly is going on at the bottom of the ocean.
