'The Umbrella Academy' Season 2 may feature Diego Hargreeves killing president JFK finally explaining the 'magic bullet'

Kraken/Diego Hargreeves, Number 2 of the Umbrella Academy, has the unique ability to control the path of anything he throws. We haven't seen whether this power works with guns yet but at least that would explain how the bullet that killed Kennedy supposedly curved mid-flight.

'The Umbrella Academy' season 1 ended on quite the cliffhanger. Despite their best efforts, our heroes were unable to prevent the apocalypse and had no choice but to jump back in time using the powers of Number 5 (Aidan Gallagher). Now lost in the timestream, the Academy is going to have their work cut out for them dealing with whatever new catastrophes they encounter when and where they emerge.

Based on the original graphic novel of the same name that provides the source material for the show, they should be arriving in Dallas, Texas, just in time for the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. While the show takes its fair share of liberties with the source material, so far it seems we will indeed be seeing Number 5 and his siblings making their way to that historically tragic moment when the president was killed, supposedly by a 'magic bullet' that curved after hitting him.

The assassination of JFK was revealed to have some connection to Number 5's last mission for the Temps Commission. Presumably, he was sent to kill JFK, a mission which he abandoned in the comics. That's right, in the series' second volume 'Dallas', it is revealed that the world of 'The Umbrella Academy' is one where JFK never died because Number 5 didn't take the shot.

It's not entirely clear how things are going to play out in the season but completing Number 5's final mission may be the key to preventing the apocalypse. This would suggest that the Academy will have to assassinate the president and as difficult as that might be, they already have the perfect man for the job.

Kraken/Diego Hargreeves (David Castañeda), Number 2 of the Umbrella Academy, has the unique ability to control the path of anything he throws. He usually uses this power to make his knives bend and deflect as required in order to hit their targets. We haven't seen whether this power works with guns yet but at least that would explain how the bullet that killed Kennedy supposedly curved mid-flight.

'The Umbrella Academy' Season 2 doesn't have a release date yet but it should be arriving on Netflix sometime late 2020 or early 2021.
