Nashville country singer and Grammy-nominee Margo Price has announced her new album ‘That’s How Rumors Get Started’ will release on May 8 on Loma Vista Recordings. The news comes in tandem with the release of her new single 'Twinkle Twinkle' with its accompanying music video.

The highly-anticipated new album, produced by longtime friend Sturgill Simpson and co-produced by David Ferguson and Price, promises to commit her "sky-high and scorching rock-and-roll show to record for the very first time", according to a statement. 'That’s How Rumors Get Started' was primarily cut at Los Angeles’ EastWest Studios and tracking occurred over a period of several days while Price was pregnant with her daughter Ramona. Referring to the simultaneous recording and pregnancy, Price says in a statement, “They’re both a creation process. And I was being really good to my body and my mind during that time". She adds, "I had a lot of clarity from sobriety".

The upcoming album follows Price's 2017 LP 'All American Made', which was named the #1 Country/Americana album of the year by Rolling Stone and one of the top albums of the decade by Billboard, Esquire, and Pitchfork, among others.

Amidst collaborating with her husband Jeremy Ivey on most of the songwriting, Price recorded with a historic band assembled by Sturgill. The members include guitarist Matt Sweeney (who has worked with Adele, Iggy Pop), bassist Pino Palladino (D’Angelo, John Mayer), drummer James Gadson (Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye) and keyboardist Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers). Simpson added background vocals on the LP's second track 'Letting Me Down' while the Nashville Friends Gospel Choir contributed their arrangements on 'Hey Child' and 'What Happened To Our Love?'.

In the new 'Twinkle Twinkle' music video, directed by Matthew Siskin (who has worked with Father John Misty and Beyoncé), we see colorful kaleidoscopic imagery which was inspired by a four-hour-long free-associative text thread between Price and Siskin. The song drew inspiration from a candid, backstage conversation with Marty Stuart about the tough truths of touring.
