It's finally happening. After several leaks and rumors were swirling around that rapper Travis Scott would be premiering a space-themed song or concert on the multiplayer video game platform Fortnite, it's finally been confirmed that he would be debuting a one-of-a-kind track called 'Astronomical' on Thursday, April 23.

Scott, who hails from Houston, clearly is fascinated by the frontier of space, considering he released an album called 'Astroworld' back in 2018 and an Astroworld Festival the same year. Houston is also home to the Lyndon B Johnson Space Center, where NASA conducts human spaceflight training, research and flight control.

Epic Games, the makers of the popular third-person-shooter videogame, Fortnite, recently released a statement regarding the launch of the new Travis Scott Events on their platform.

"From April 23-25, blast off into a one of a kind musical journey featuring Travis Scott and the world premiere of a brand new track. 'Astronomical' is an other-worldly experience inspired by Cactus Jack’s creations, built from the ground up in Fortnite." Scott owns the Cactus Jack record label and his compilation album, 'JackBoys', was the number one album on the US Billboard 200 chart at the start of 2020.

Fortnite is collaborating with the Grammy-nominated rapper for a host of showtimes and fan engagements, and these are not locked to specific geographical regions. Epic Games also revealed, "To make sure everyone has a chance to experience Astronomical, we’re setting up multiple tour dates with showtimes for players around the globe. Jump into whichever time fits your schedule best, or catch an encore with your friends if they missed it."
