TOP SOLO ACT JUNGKOOK: Fans congratulate the BTS maknae for the success of 'Left and Right'

Fans trend 'Top Solo Act Jungkook' on Twitter to celebrate the success of Jungkook's collaborative single with American singer Charlie Puth

BTS Jungkook is really the golden maknae of the boy group as the name given to him by fans and members suggests and his recent achievements are proof of why he is one of the 'Top Solo Acts' from South Korea. Merely days after BTS released their first anthology album 'Proof' on June 10, it was announced that the members were going to take a hiatus from group activities. Fans were initially saddened but when BTS members revealed that it did not mean the end and that members would be making their solo debuts, fans were extremely excited.

Soon after that revelation, Jungkook, the youngest member, became the first from the group to release a single outside BTS group activities. On June 24, Jungkook featured in American singer Charlie Puth's newest single 'Left and Right,' and the song has already broken several records in just 10 days. The single 'Left and Right' is an English track that was released with a music video that has already surpassed 78 million views on YouTube.

Jungkook breaks new records globally with 'Left and Right'

The video for 'Left and Right' opens with Charlie discussing his love life with his therapist while still hounded by memories of his past lover. As the video progresses, Jungkook, in a different room, confirms the same feelings that Charlie shares only for it to be revealed that Jungkook is only in Charlie's mind after all. BTS fans loved the concept along with Jungkook's charming vocals and cute acting skills while the single became a chart-topping hit. As of July 4, 'Left and Right' has topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in 103 countries. 

Jungkook also proved the majesty of his global vocals by breaking the 'best' and 'shortest' records on Spotify. According to Spotify's Global Top Songs Weekly Chart, 'Left and Right' recorded more than 30 million streams in 7 days from June 24 to 30. The single is now among the Top 7 songs on the list. The single 'Left and Right' feat Jungkook became the fastest song by a Korean and K-pop soloist to achieve 10 million unfiltered streams on Spotify two days after its release.

Moreover, Jungkook also extended his own record by becoming the fastest Korean soloist to hit 20 million unfiltered streams in 4 days, 30 million unfiltered streams in 6 days, 40 million unfiltered streams in 8 days, and now 50 million unfiltered streams in 10 days. 'Left and Right' topped the US Top Song Weekly Chart from June 24 to 26, as well as the Top Song Weekly Chart in Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan among other countries.
