LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The year 2023 is going to be a huge one for James Mangold. He recently got the scoop that he will be the director of a new 'Star Wars' film, and he will be traveling to Cannes for the said debut of 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' next month. He also intends to collaborate on a 'Swamp Thing' movie with James Gunn-run DC Studios. Meanwhile, he intends to finish filming his long-delayed Bob Dylan movie 'A Complete Unknown' starring Timothée Chalamet this summer.

In 2020, Mangold and Chalamet expected to collaborate on a Bob Dylan project, as they have stated. This same project, which was formerly called 'Going Electric,' is centered on Dylan's formative years as a folk music legend as well as the criticism that faced after incorporating rock & roll elements into his style on the albums 'Bringing It All Back Home' and 'Highway 61 Revisited.'

Chalamet to portray Dylan

Timothee Chalamet is prepared to portray Bob Dylan in a major motion picture and will sing himself. In a recent interview with Collider, while attending the 'Star Wars' Celebration in London, director James Mangold hinted at his future film. The actor from 'Bones and All' was asked whether he'd like to sing, and he said, 'Of course!'

The movie is a fascinating factual narrative about an important period in the American scene, according to Mangold. The director told the publication, "It's such an amazing time in American culture and the story of a young, 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with about two dollars in his pocket and becoming a worldwide phenomenon in less than three years — first being embraced into the family of folk music in New York and then, of course, kind of outrunning them at a certain point as his star rises so beyond belief."

The James Mangold biopic might surpass all expectations

In the context of 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' the announcement of yet another legendary rock biopic sometimes causes gasps, but it's important to keep in mind that James Mangold is an excellent director. His Johnny Cash biopic 'Walk the Line,' in which Reese Witherspoon garnered an Oscar nomination for her performance while Joaquin Phoenix received one, is widely regarded as the benchmark of the genre. Even the fairly tough Dylan audience will undoubtedly be happy if 'A Complete Unknown' is anything like 'Walk the Line'.
