The next installment in the 'Thor' franchise, 'Thor: Love and Thunder', has been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic but director Taika Waititi has revealed a ton of information about the movie that has got us super excited.

Among other things, the movie will be introducing Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as the female Thor and exploring the far reaches of the galaxy. The filmmaker also revealed that 'Thor: Love and Thunder' will further explore the origins of his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, former Kronan gladiator Korg.

"We do touch on Korg's culture," Waititi revealed to a fan. "Where he's from.... if you look in the comics about Kronans, it's an interesting thing about where they come from.”

Waititi held a streaming party of 'Thor: Ragnarok' on Instagram Live recently with the movie's stars Tessa Thompson and Mark Ruffalo joining in with questions and comments.

Thompson reportedly revealed during the live session that 'Thor: Love and Thunder' does have a script ready but she hasn't read it yet, which led to Waititi offering some teasers about what she's been missing.

"It makes Ragnarok feel like a really run-of-the-mill, really safe film," Waititi told Thompson. "This new movie feels like we asked a bunch of 10-year-olds what they wanted to see and then just said yes to every single thing."

According to Comic Book, Waititi also revealed that the upcoming movie will include "space sharks" but not the Silver Surfer. Of course, the female Thor is still the thing we're most excited to see in the movie and earlier in 2019, Waititi had revealed how he managed to convince Natalie Portman to return to the role.

"I just said to her, 'Are you interested in coming back to this thing, but doing something really different?'" Waititi explained in a Variety interview.

"Because another thing, no one wants to keep repeating themselves and no one wants to play the same characters all the time. And I think for her, just coming back reprising that character but in this whole fresh new way, is really what I think would interest anyone. Especially, in most of these films, if you're not a superhero... do you really want to keep doing that? I mean, I wouldn't. I would want to come back and change things up."

'Thor: Love and Thunder' is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 18, 2022.
