ROSARITO, MEXICO: Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, said he is "open to any kind of conversation" to mend their relationship as previously unseen footage of the duchess is released ahead of the coronation of her father-in-law, King Charles, on May 6. Meghan's family has slammed her for abandoning her father, who has made a "deathbed" plea to reconcile with his daughter.

In a recently released documentary featuring Thomas and Meghan's half-siblings, he made the claim that his estranged daughter has "killed me and then mourned me" while he is still alive, adding that he refuses "to be buried by her."  But he is ready to repair the relationship with his daughter, asking, "How can I fix this?" The family hopes the new chronicle will be a chance to "set the record straight" and "give their side of the story."

Thomas said, "It's a huge disappointment and it's sad every day." He also expressed his strong desire to see his grandchildren. "They're going to have my nose, they're going to have my eyes," he said. The father said if his daughter was near him at the moment he would say to her, "Let's go somewhere and talk. And I'd say 'what's wrong?' How can I fix this?" "Her childhood was with me. Every time we had a chance to go somewhere and do something, we would," reported Daily Mail.

'I believe she had a clear motive for writing family off!'

He continued, "We were very close all our lives. From the sixth grade on she lived with me. And I got her through high school, I got her through college. I wish that we could sit down and talk. I wish that we could work out our differences. Meghan - she loved me. I'm her hero. And suddenly I was thrown out. She shot me and now she misses me. Is it worth dumping me for the rest of my life? Denying my grandchildren? Is it worth getting rid of her father?" Thomas added that his daughter maintained her distance even after he suffered a devastating stroke last year, leaving him struggling to speak and needing the aid of a walking stick. "If she doesn't turn up for a stroke - if that doesn't move her - what would?" he said.

Further, Meghan's stepbrother, Thomas Markle Jr, accused her of neglecting their father. "She has got to ask herself every day. Why am I doing this to my father," he said. "I feel sorry for him {Markle Sr) and I don't think he should be deprived of his daughter. If it wasn't for his hard work and his love for her, she wouldn't be where she's at right now. Some day Meghan's going to realize that she's missing out on a really good tight-knit family. I mean we're all still together all the time no matter what, and you can't put a price on that. Dad didn't do anything, and she just woke up one day in a new world and decided that she doesn't have a family. I believe she had a clear motive for writing family off because it would seemingly justify all of the lies that she told the royal family."

'She is the least diplomatic person'

Internet users had mixed reaction with some blaming Meghan for neglecting her family, while others mocked the Markle family for making money from the documentary. One user tweeted, "Let the games begin. Should be interesting." Another added, "Wow they sure know how to milk that cow. How much the toilet paper media paper will pay them?" Another tweeted, "For a family that don't like Meghan they really want her to acknowledge them." "It’s pretty clear it’s something wrong with Meghan and not everyone else as she says. No one is perfect and her family hasn’t done anything gruesome to her. She is the least diplomatic person that is known," read a comment.
