'This Is Us' fans can't stop talking about this cute 'Grey's Anatomy' reference between Beth and Randall

'This Is Us' and 'Grey's Anatomy' may have their own trajectories but both do have one thing in common — just tons of sentimental scenes to make us sit with a box of tissues handy

'This Is Us' never stops making fans teary-eyed and sappy with all the warmth, love and togetherness. In last week's episode, Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown) finally gives therapy a chance. However, he is still indignant towards it.

Back at home, when he tells his wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) about his apprehensions towards therapy, she gives him a stern warning: "I was worried if I lay anything else on you, you will crack." And then, she lovingly tells him, "You're my person." The dialogue seems like a callback from 'Grey's Anatomy' when Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) called Meredith Grey, (Ellen Pompeo) her person.

It was back in the second season when Yang had to get an abortion and she chose Meredith as her emergency contact. “You are my person, you will always be my person," she said, making fans emotional, so much that they still remember with all their hearts.

No sooner did the heartwarming scene between Beth and Randall air on the NBC show, that fans couldn't help but talk about the reference to ABC's longest-running medical show. "#ThisIsUs pulled a #GreysAnatomy when Beth told Randall you're my person," one fan posted and another wrote, "This might have been my favorite episode if only because I’m a total Joni Mitchell fangirl & because it confirmed Beth and Randall are #GreysAnatomy fans too. #ThisIsUs."

"#GreysAnatomy line! “You’re my person”  #ThisIsUs," one tweet read and another said, "#ThisIsUs - Finally Beth was able to get Randall into therapy and stay. It is so true what Beth said since Randall did not want to go to therapy for himself, go for her. She needs Randall to be "her person" again - shades of #GreysAnatomy."

The two shows may have their own trajectories but both do have one thing in common — both have tons of sentimental scenes to make viewers keep a box of tissues handy. No wonder, Beth was able to convince Randall to continue therapy with that one line. Such is the power of a good 'Grey's Anatomy' dialogue. If only, the writers could flesh out more such lines for the dying Season 16 plot.

'This Is Us' airs every Tuesday at 9 pm ET on NBC.
