'This Is Us' Season 4 Episode 18 Preview: This song proves 'Strangers: Part Two' will end on a disastrous note
The countdown begins. It's time to hold your breath as 'This Is Us' Season 4 finale airs next week. Especially because, this week's episode 'After the Fire' ended with a major twist.
The episode sheds light on Randall Pearson's (Sterling K. Brown) mental trauma after both of his fathers' deaths.
At the end, Randall emotionally blackmailed his mother Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) to go for the clinical trial, even as he knew he was going against her wishes and was going to majorly irk his brother Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley).
Titled 'Strangers: Part Two', the finale might leave things on a dreary note. The official summary reads, "The Pearsons gather to celebrate Baby Jack's first birthday."
Knowing how distant the Pearson family is in the future, the hour-long drama seems to have a sorrowful ending in store for viewers. In a new promo, a montage of scenes play without any dialogue. Randall and Kevin have a big argument as Toby (Chris Sullivan) and Kate (Chrissy Metz) look on with baby Jack in their arms and a morose song 'Blue skies smiling at me...' plays in the background. Do we need any more proof? Well, the doctor from Season 1 who helped Rebecca give birth to her twins is also back!
That's scary, isn't it?
Fans are convinced that something majorly disastrous is going to happen and can't stop talking about it. "Is it just me, or is this trailer set up unintentionally creepy?" one wrote and another said, "This argument is about to be ugly... I can't wait for the finale." Another viewer posted, "Holy crap. Emotional stuff happening with both present and future Jack, the big Randall/Kevin fight, a Dr. K appearance... all this stuff about to go down, AND we’ll be finding out who Kevin’s future fiancé/baby mama is... I can’t deal. Make the week go by faster."
Moreover, too many fans are pissed at Randall. "Randall needs to stop acting like he is an only child and making everything about him. Rebecca needs to do what's best for her regardless of what her children, especially Randall, want," one wrote and another said, "Oh my god, Randall. This. Is. NOT. About. YOU!!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever hated a character as much as I hate Randall right now. YOU NEED TO STOP RANDALL PEARSON. STOP."
As the episode airs on March 24, 2020 at 9 pm ET on NBC, it may bring answers to all the questions fans have. Or who knows, the showrunners may complicate the heads of fans more than ever with a cliffhanger. Only time will spell the real ending and until then, we can just wait.
