'This Is Us' Season 4 Episode 18 Finale: Who is Kevin's future wife, Sophie or Madison?
Packed with marvel and mystery, 'This Is Us' ended the fourth season with one too many loose ends. The biggest scoop of the episode was Kevin Pearson's (Justin Hartley) big twist.
Not only did he have a major fallout with his brother Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown), he got a huge shock when Madison (Caitlin Thompson) told him she was pregnant. In a state of panic and misery, he tells her, "I want to be a father. I think I will be great at it. The love of my life will be my child." And right then, Madison tells him, "Children... That's twins, Kevin." In a heartwarming scene in the flash-future, Kevin's twins come to hug him — a little girl and a beautiful boy.
While it is clear Kevin is the father of two beautiful kids, we don't know who his fiancée or wife would be. A scene where his childhood love Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) blushes after looking at his billboard only leaves us more confused. "Now the question is who is Kevin's wife? #ThisIsUs," one fan posted and another wrote, "We still don’t know who Kevin’s wife is? Kevin and Randall really & truly aren’t talking? No Kate nor Toby at the birth of their own grandchild? No Malik and Deja flash-forward? No Tess or Annie flash-forward? I’m upset."
Many feel Sophie could be endgame
"Keep in mind. They never revealed who the wife is so Sophie and Kevin could still be in play #ThisIsUs," one fan posted and another said, "#Madison is the baby momma like so many ppl called. he just had to make his wife a bigger part of the show. literally makes no sense bc Kevin wouldn’t be with someone like her he needs a different type of personality but whatever I guess @NBCThisisUs."
One worried fan said, "Why is it that Kevin, the character who has had the most character growth on the entire show, always gets the shit end of the stick? We watch for seasons of him being with Sophie and how much he’s always loved her, only for him to settle with a one night stand. #ThisIsUs," and another posted, "I prefer Sophie and Kevin for me because she is his true love on #ThisIsUs."
Is Madison the wife and mom?
One fan, who clearly doesn't find Sophie perfect for Kevin, said, "Um...so clearly the writers have a thing for this Sophie character. They need to dead the issue. She and Kevin are done. Please. For our sanity. They are not Randall and Beth. Not even star-crossed lovers. Just dead the ting," and another said, "I think Kevin and Madison will work. They both know the vulnerability of the disorders they battled and the struggles they overcame. There’s no false pretense or being someone they’re not. For the 1st time they can each be themselves and fulfill dreams of being parents #ThisIsUs."
"Stop I don’t want it to end like this please reveal Kevin’s wife to me right now! And where the heck is Kate? If she’s dead I’m fighting everyone," one viewer wrote and another said, "I thought the scene in the office was a flashback to the younger days of Jack and Rebecca's OBGYN, until the girl on the table mentioned Starbucks. But I was wrong. She's Kevin's future wife."
