Mugler was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1948 and studied ballet before stumbling into designing. He was passionate about cinema and classical dance too. His iconic designs were worn by stars like Madonna, Katy Perry, Rihanna, David Bowie, George Michael, and several others. He was also heavily inclined towards bodybuilding and flaunted his chiseled body on Instagram several times. Mugler also gained fame when he designed the costumes for Beyoncé's 2009 ‘I Am... World Tour’. He also released various popular perfumes like Angel in 1992, Angel Men in 1996, Alien in 2005, Mirror, Mirror in 2007 and Womanity in 2010.
