Hip-hop fans were already mourning the death of rappers like Wavy Navy Pooh and Earl Swavey when they got another blow in the form of Sad Frosty. The Houston native died on Friday, January 14 as confirmed by his official Instagram post. The news of the 24-year-old hip-hop artist’s demise was confirmed on Sunday, January 16.
 
While the hip-hop community lost a bunch of rappers due to natural causes, a few others were murdered in 2021. Speaking of rappers getting shot and killed, artist VNZA was murdered in Missouri back in June. Brooklyn rapper Supa Gates too faced a similar fate after he was shot multiple times at St John’s Place near Troy Avenue in Crown Heights on April 11. Chicago rapper KTS Dre too made the headlines after he was shot 64 times on his head and other parts of his body in July 2021. Bay Area rapper Mike Darole was another hip-hop artist who was fatally shot during an attempted robbery in May 2021.

How did rapper Sad Frosty die?

The cause of Sad Frosty’s death is still unknown. None of the family members or friends have yet shared an official statement on the same. MEAWW will keep you posted. Sad Frosty, whose real name is yet to be known, stayed less active on Instagram but posted regular videos on YouTube with an intention to promote his music. On Instagram, he enjoyed more than 200K followers whereas, on YouTube, he was close to achieving 100K subscribers. The rapper was also active on TikTok and he reportedly logged in on the platform a few days ago posting a short clip.
 
The sad news of the rapper’s death was shared via his Instagram account with the caption that read, “Long Live Sad Frosty. 3/4/97 - 1/14/22.” No other details were spilled on his demise. A verified Twitter user bid him farewell saying, “DAMN MAN, RIP SAD FROSTY. WAS JUST TALKIN TO U THE OTHER DAY MANE SMH.”  Sad Frosty first shot to fame with his ‘ADHD Freestyle’. He later dropped a banger in collaboration with DC The Don called ‘Beavis & Butt-Head’ which currently sits at 1.4million views. His other songs include ‘Crib with a Lake’, ‘Pull Up’, ‘New Kicks’ and ‘Swerve’ among others.

Social media users were shocked after they got to know about Sad Frosty’s untimely death. “No fu**in way. RIP Sad Frosty”, said one stunned user as another posted, “RIP Sad Frosty man. It’s so crazy when things like this happen. Never even know what to say anymore.” The next one added, “This one hurts man, another young artist gone way too soon. RIP Sad Frosty.” Meanwhile, another tweeted, “This is really unexpected rip sad frosty.”
 
One individual asserted, “This was unexpected ASF can't imagine of don is feeling rn... RIP Sad Frosty”, as another stated, “Yo rip sad frosty man a while back i dmed him and bro had the heart to respond. not a lotta artists do that n i think that really said somethin about his character.” Another shared, “One of the first to ever get in tune with me from outside of my city. I’ll always remember the few times we got to link and the conversations and plans waiting to come together. rip sad frosty, this hurts to say the least.” While, another concluded, “RIP sad frosty, underground legend.”
