One of the most loved and recognized Mexican stars Carmen Salinas died on Thursday, December 9, 2021. She was 82. The sad news of her demise was announced by her family on her official Instagram and Twitter accounts, respectively. In the post, the family shared her picture along with a moving goodbye note. Apart from being one of the top soap stars, Carmen Salinas was also an impressionist, theatre entrepreneur, and comedian.
 
She also forayed into politics and was associated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) during her political days. Speaking of celebrity deaths, we recently lost Lisa Banes in a hit-and-run accident. The 'Deliverance' star Ned Beatty too left us for the heavenly abode. Other celebrities that we lost in the last few months include Chick Vennera, Jay Jay Philips, Greg Tate, DMX, Jay Black, Mort Sahl, Jeanette Maus, and others.

How did Carmen Salinas die?

Carmen Salinas’ family revealed that the actress suffered a stroke that left her in a coma. She was taken to a private clinic in Mexico on Thursday, December 9. According to NBC Los Angeles, Salinas’ nephew and personal assistant Gustavo Briones González had given the last update outside a hospital in Colonia Roma of Salinas. Her daughter Maria Eugenia Plascencia, had also spoken to local media outside the hospital revealing that she talked to her mother who had been able to move her feet. It appears she died a few hours later.

Carmen Salinas was born in 1939 and made her TV debut in 1964. She was best known for portraying La Corcholata in 'Bellas de Noche'. She also starred in many films including 'La Pulquería' and 'Las Carinosas'. It is reported that Carmen Salinas was filming ‘Mi fortuna es amarte’ when she suffered a deadly stroke. She was supposed to play the role of Dona Margarita Domínguez in the soap opera.

Social media users took to Twitter to pay their final condolences to the actress. “Rest In Peace Carmen Salinas. you were everyone’s mom in telenovelas & a comforting figure in my adolescence,” said one fan as another posted, “Damn Carmen Salinas died during the Ye concert, her heaven entrance must of been fly af. RIP goat.”  The next one tweeted, “This hits close; she reminded me of my grandma. Carmen Salinas was Mexican television ICON. I admired her humorous personality, open-minded attitude towards new ideas, and the way she connected with people. She will be missed dearly. Truly a queen of Mexican television. QEPD.”
 
One user added, “I still can’t believe she passed away!! RIP @CarmenSalinasLo. You’ll truly be missed and the novelas will not be the same without.”  Meanwhile, one user added, “Me done with life rn cause I really thought Carmen Salinas would like live forever and she was invincible.”  One individual asserted, “This makes me so sad. I grew up watching her in novelas. She seemed like such a sweet lady rip”, as another chimed in to concluded, “Rest in peace Carmen Salinas.
