LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of Kim Kardashian’s former husband, Kanye West, who fashions himself now as ‘Ye’ are not happy with his latest sartorial choice and netizens naturally can’t keep calm about that. On May 4, Ye was spotted wearing black skin-tight leggings and a pair of sock-boots from his ‘Yeezy’ brand’s Not Too Sole-ful line of shoes. While some netizens joked he would be selling “yeggings” now, some commented hilariously that he is wearing a piece of clothing from Kim’s SKIMS collection.

He paired the social media sensation piece with an oversized Manchester United tee shirt while going to his warehouse.

‘White Lives Matter’ slogan

Earlier in 2022, Kanye West was embroiled in a more controversial stance regarding one of the products from his brand. At Paris Fashion Week last year, he organized an impromptu fashion show displaying his latest collection from the Yeezy brand. However, one particular style caught the attention of fashion pundits as well as social media users, but not in a good sense. He showed one topwear which had the slogan "White Lives Matter" on the back, and a picture of Pope John Paul II on the front along with the words “Seguiremos tu ejemplo” (translating to “We will follow your example),” embossed. The use of the controversial slogan which is deemed "white supremacist" by many, disappointed some guests causing them to leave the show.

“With or without context, the “White Lives Matter” message is irrefutably harmful and Kanye’s inclusion of the statement is completely irresponsible,” noted the Fashion Features editor of Dazed magazine, Emma Davidson. She raised a question in her piece, “In emblazoning a t-shirt that he has designed “for everyone” with something that has been classified by the Anti-Defamation League as a hate slogan, Kanye has co-signed a violent rhetoric: if a Black man can utilize, commodify, and project a racist message, that is rooted in white supremacy and favored by the Klu Klux Klan, then why can’t everyone else?”
