Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix, the series is based on the book series of the same name. The first season was aired in 2019 featuring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan.
In the fourth season, Liam Hemsworth has joined the cast, replacing Cavill.
Fans troll Netflix's 'The Witcher' ahead of Season 4 and 5
While Season 4 is still underway, the announcement for the fifth season hasn't generated much excitement among fans. Over time, interest in the series seems to have waned, as evidenced by the tone of their posts
As the official handle of 'The Witcher' announced Season 5, fans took to the reply section and brutally trolled the franchise.
An X user wrote, "Oh so we are just “pretending” that its still hype? Gotcha," while another called it, "Epic Fail. The show is trash."
Unhappy with Henry Cavill's replacement in the series, a fan pointed out, "Damn shame the team ruined a good thing. Cavill as the Witcher is 80% of the show, really what's left if he's not there...."
"No thanks. You couldn't even do the show properly with Henry Cavill there. No reason to care without him," added another fan.

When is 'The Witcher' Season 4 releasing?
'The Witcher' Season 4 was announced in October 2022 and it is currently in the production stage.
The official logline for 'The Witcher' Season 4 reads, "After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again."
In Season 4, Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia while the other supporting cast members continue from the previous seasons.
Since 'The Witcher' has been renewed for a fifth season as well, we can speculate that both seasons may be shot back-to-back.
At this point, there has been no confirmation on the release dates of 'The Witcher' Season 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, three seasons of 'The Witcher' are available to stream on Netflix.
