Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' Season 1 Episode 3 'The Tyger and the Lamb'

There's always going to be a bit of a learning curve, when dealing with the undead. One doesn't just go from living in a sheltered world to killing zombies out in the thick of the apocalypse. However, three episodes in, and the show's four teen protagonists still do a lot more running away than they do the killing of empties. The fans have had enough, and they're making their feelings known. It's probably not the best sign that for a lot of the fans, the most interesting characters on the show are the shambling, dead-eyes, rotting corpses of the undead.

Though there are plenty of people watching this 'The Walking Dead' spinoff, a few of them have warmed up to the new characters. Even those willing to give the show a chance have experienced frustrations with individual characters. "Loving #TWDWorldBeyond but Iris is so intensely aggravating. I love the sisterly dynamic she has with Hope, we definitely need more of that shown in TV, but I can't stand her overall attitude and demeanor. She's so frustrating and annoyed to watch," writes one fan, of Iris Bennett (Aliyah Royale). "The kids on #TWDWorldBeyond hit different like they suck...there I said it...I mean Carl & Judith had more sense & were younger..the ones on #FearTWD soon learned but these kids been here a decade, talking about I hope we don't have to kill empties like they on a magical quest," writes another. "An episode only with a cast of zombies would be more entertaining," says a viewer. "I'm starting to wonder if the writers of this show didn't intend for the most interesting characters to be the zombies," writes this fan.

Beyond the frustrations with performances and characters themselves, however, many fans are far more frustrated with the fact that teens who have grown up in the apocalypse show no survival traits whatsoever when it comes to living in it. Fans hoping to see competent teen fighters taking on zombies are being consistently disappointed with how bad the teens are at taking out the undead. "These kids seriously need to learn how to actually kill the walkers instead of being afraid and running away," says a fan. "Ugh. Why don’t these folks know how to kill walkers?! They should have just made this a one episode show and killed everyone at the college. It’s so dang frustrating," vents this viewer. "Walking dead: the world beyond Let’s make another spin off where all the characters are complete pussies!" writes another fan.

By the end of the episode, some of the teens do, in fact, kill their first empties, but for a lot of the fans, it might just be too little, too late. The fans have consistently pointed out just how incompetent its protagonists are, and now that Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella) and Huck (Annet Mahendru) have joined the group, the kids have less reason to put themselves in harm's way than ever. It's a harsh world out there - and the fans are tired of waiting for these teens to adapt to it.

The next episode of 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' airs on October 25 at 10 pm ET on AMC.
